When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

The Divisional CIO (DCIO) is a strategic IT business partner and advisor serving the Building Construction Products (BCP) Division within Caterpillar's Construction Industries (CI) organization. BCP is a key growth engine for Construction Industries and is undergoing significant business expansion, including the launch of CAT Compact, the development of a new greenfield manufacturing facility, and multiple global business transformation initiatives.

The DCIO is responsible for shaping and executing the technology strategy that enables accelerated business growth while leading global IT operations for BCP, applying modern manufacturing innovation while ensuring operational excellence across supply chain, commercial, and aftermarket functions. This executive leader serves as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, earning and maintaining a respected seat at the table while influencing key business decisions and driving enterprise value through technology.

In addition to leading day-to-day technology operations in BCP manufacturing facilities around the world, the DCIO will lead large-scale transformation programs, including ERP (SAP) and CRM implementations, manufacturing digitization and automation initiatives, and the end-to-end IT enablement of greenfield manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will bring a proven record of global manufacturing facility leadership, successful deployment of complex business and technology transformations, building high-performing global teams, and creating clarity, alignment, and results in rapidly changing environments.

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver measurable business value through technology solutions aligned to BCP's growth strategy, operational objectives, and long-term business priorities.
  • Serve as the senior IT partner to BCP leadership, influencing strategic decisions and ensuring technology investments accelerate business performance and enterprise value.
  • Lead all IT aspects of greenfield manufacturing facility development, including infrastructure, manufacturing systems, ERP deployment, cybersecurity, operational technology integrations, and business readiness.
  • Lead global ERP (SAP) and CRM transformation programs, driving end-to-end implementation, adoption, process harmonization, and business outcomes across multiple regions and manufacturing sites.
  • Partner with business leaders to successfully execute ongoing and future manufacturing transformation initiatives, including SAP-enabled facility transformations across global BCP operations.
  • Create order, structure, and execution discipline in complex and rapidly evolving environments while balancing strategic priorities and operational demands.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives that modernize business processes, improve decision-making, and enable scalable growth.
  • Lead the prioritization of technology investments, resources, and capabilities to achieve strategic business outcomes.
  • Ensure operational stability, reliability, and availability of critical technology services supporting global manufacturing and commercial operations.
  • Protect the business through strong cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, and governance practices.
  • Develop, coach, and inspire global teams and future leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across Construction Industries, Caterpillar IT, and enterprise teams to deliver both division-specific and enterprise-wide objectives.

What You Have:

  • Strategy Development & Execution: Experience developing and executing technology strategies that enable business growth, operational scale, and enterprise transformation within highly complex global organizations.
  • Business & Technology Transformation Leadership: Proven leadership of large-scale business transformation programs, including ERP (SAP) implementations, CRM deployments (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent), manufacturing systems integrations, and global change management initiatives.
  • Greenfield Manufacturing Leadership: Demonstrated success leading the end-to-end IT workstream for greenfield manufacturing facilities, including technology strategy, infrastructure deployment, operational technology, plant systems, cybersecurity, and business readiness.
  • Relationship Management & Executive Influence: Track record of building trusted partnerships with senior executives and business stakeholders while effectively leading through influence and accountability in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Customer-Focused Business Acumen: Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to align technology investments to growth, profitability, customer experience, and operational outcomes.
  • Manufacturing & Operational Technology: Experience supporting large-scale global manufacturing operations and supply chain environments with strong understanding of factory systems, operational technology, production processes, and enterprise platforms.
  • Software Engineering & Digital Solutions: Experience leading the development and deployment of digital capabilities that strengthen core operations and create competitive differentiation.
  • Data, Analytics & AI Enablement: Demonstrated ability to leverage enterprise data, advanced analytics, AI, and GenAI solutions to improve business performance and decision making.
  • Leading Through Ambiguity: Ability to bring clarity, structure, and execution focus to complex environments while managing competing priorities and accelerating business outcomes.
  • Talent Management & Leadership Development: Proven success building, coaching, and developing global teams and emerging leaders while creating an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Communication & Change Leadership: Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and organizational change leadership skills with the ability to align diverse teams around transformational objectives.

Preferred Experience:

  • Leading SAP S/4HANA transformations across global manufacturing operations.
  • Leading CRM transformations utilizing Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Delivering technology capabilities for greenfield manufacturing start-ups.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
