The posting

Welcome to the future of cloud networking and security!

Cato Networks is the first company to converge enterprise networking and security into one centralized and global service that is delivered by cloud. It is led by networking and security pioneer Shlomo Kramer (Check Point, Imperva) and early investor (Palo Alto Networks, Exabeam, Trusteer and more). Cato’s unique technology inspired a brand-new product category, later named “SASE” by Gartner and a market expected to reach $28.5 billion by 2028.

This is your opportunity to get on the rocket ship and join a company that is building a cutting-edge enterprise network and secure cloud platform, and is on a fast track to becoming the worldwide market leader – don’t miss it!

Cato Networks is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Research & Infrastructure team in our Security Research group. You'll build the systems behind Cato's security research and help turn that research into product capabilities. You'll work closely with researchers across the group to understand what they need, and you'll own each solution from requirements and architecture through implementation and delivery. Our team builds platforms for threat intelligence, malware hunting and attack analysis, along with scalable pipelines for processing large volumes of data. AI tools are part of how we design, build, test and research every day.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full development lifecycle of systems and applications: gather requirements, define technical specifications, design the architecture, and build backend services and web interfaces.
  • Build threat intelligence, malware hunting and attack analysis platforms that support Cato's security operations and its Managed Threat Detection & Response (MDR) service.
  • Build tools that let researchers investigate threats, develop security content and create detection signatures.
  • Design the workflows and infrastructure that bring research outputs into Cato's customer-facing products.
  • Build scalable data processing and analysis solutions on the Cato Cloud data warehouse, automate protocol analysis, and integrate with internal and external services.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of server-side development in Python.
  • 3+ years of web development with modern frameworks.
  • A strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals, including system architecture, code design and end-to-end development.
  • Proven ability to turn stakeholder needs into clear requirements and working technical solutions.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, MySQL and Redis.
  • Ability to use AI tools effectively in daily engineering work and critically evaluate their output.
  • Strong ownership, initiative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluent English.
  • BSc in Computer Science or a related field.

Advantages

  • Experience with React.
  • Experience with big-data technologies such as Apache Spark.
  • Background in security or networking.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
