Caylent is an AI-first cloud services company that helps organizations turn ambitious ideas into meaningful business impact. As an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner and a charter member of Anthropic’s Claude Partner Network, we combine deep expertise in AWS, artificial intelligence, and Anthropic’s Claude platform to help customers modernize their technology, build intelligent products, and move AI from experimentation into production.

Our capabilities span generative and agentic AI, cloud migration and modernization, cloud-native application development, data and analytics, DevOps, managed services, security and compliance, and customer experience transformation. At Caylent, our people always come first.

We are a fully remote global company with employees in Canada, the United States and Latin America. We celebrate the culture of each of our team members and foster a community of technological curiosity. Come talk to us to learn more about what it means to be a Caylien!

The Mission

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Frontend Architect to join our Cloud Native Applications team. In this role, you will own the architecture of modern, high-performance, real-time web applications built on AWS, from the first customer discovery conversation through production launch. You will design how the browser, the edge, and the API layer fit together, using technologies such as React, Next.js, GraphQL, AWS AppSync, Amazon CloudFront, and AWS WAF, and codify it all in Terraform. You'll partner with Design, Backend, DevOps, and Project Management to turn ambiguous business needs into scalable, secure, and delightful user experiences, and you'll raise the bar for the engineers around you. If you thrive on being both a hands-on technologist and a trusted advisor to customers, we want to hear from you.

Your Assignment

  • You will be a mission specialist, rocketing Customers forward as you lead technical discovery, define frontend and edge architecture, and guide delivery teams through standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and more.
  • You will demonstrate Caylent's commitment to being an Exceptional Partner by authoring clear architecture decisions, solution designs, and diagrams, and by presenting trade-offs and recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • You will Lead By Example, staying hands-on in the code, setting frontend standards, conducting design and code reviews, and mentoring Senior and Mid-level engineers as your team builds together.
  • You will demonstrate a passion to Stay Curious as you evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development and AI-powered user experiences, and bring proven patterns back to Caylent and our customers.
  • You will partner with the Design team, Backend Architects, and Cloud/DevOps engineers to ensure the frontend architecture aligns with data models, API contracts, security requirements, and infrastructure.

Your Qualifications

Core Consulting Qualifications

Customer Experience

  • Deliver exceptional client experiences, act as a trusted technical advisor, respond professionally to customer inquiries, communicate project status and risk, and provide solutions aligned to client business outcomes.

Collaboration

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration with internal teams and customer stakeholders, proactively aligning on priorities and incorporating feedback. Lead and coordinate technical work across engineers, designers, and project managers.

Communication

  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, actively listen to clients and team members, and document decisions so that teams can execute with confidence.

Technical Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on frontend engineering and 1+ years in a technical lead, architect, or equivalent role.
  • Expert-level experience building production applications with React.js and TypeScript, including state management, rendering performance, component architecture, and design systems.
  • Deep experience with Next.js, including the App Router, server components, SSR, SSG, ISR, route handlers, middleware, and caching strategies. Able to advise on rendering and hosting trade-offs on AWS (e.g., containers, Lambda, AWS Amplify, OpenNext).
  • Strong experience designing and consuming GraphQL APIs, including schema design, queries and mutations, fragments, pagination, caching, and client libraries such as Apollo Client, Relay, or urql.
  • Hands-on experience implementing GraphQL Subscriptions for real-time experiences (WebSockets), including connection lifecycle, reconnection, filtering, authorization, and scale considerations.
  • Practical experience with AWS AppSync, including resolvers (JavaScript/VTL), data sources (DynamoDB, Lambda, OpenSearch, HTTP), authorization modes (Amazon Cognito, IAM, OIDC, Lambda authorizers), and real-time/Events APIs.
  • Practical experience with Amazon CloudFront for content delivery, including cache policies, origin configuration, CloudFront Functions and Lambda@Edge, and performance and cost tuning.
  • Working knowledge of AWS WAF, including managed and custom rule groups, rate limiting, bot control, and protecting CloudFront and AppSync endpoints, plus a solid understanding of web security fundamentals (OWASP Top 10, CSP, CORS, XSS/CSRF, secure authentication flows).
  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications, including automated builds, preview environments, and safe deployment strategies.
  • Deep understanding of web performance (Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, code splitting, caching), accessibility (WCAG), and observability for the frontend (RUM, logging, error tracking).
  • Experience with frontend testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing (e.g., Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress).
  • Experience collaborating closely with UX/UI designers to turn wireframes and design systems into accessible, performant experiences, and the ability to contribute to early design conversations to ensure designs are feasible and scalable.
  • Experience with Generative AI technologies, both for personal productivity (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.) and for integrating AI features (e.g., streaming responses, chat interfaces) into a frontend.
  • Experience contributing to and delivering on client-facing customer engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS Certified Developer.
  • Experience with micro-frontends, monorepos (Nx, Turborepo), and design system / component library strategy.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
