Position Type: Teacher - Years 7-9 English Teacher (minor subject negotiable)Employment Status: Permanent | up to 1.0FTE   The Opportunity We are seeking a suitably qualified Teacher for the following Permanent position.  YEARS 7-9 ENGLISH TEACHER - PERMANENT This is a permanent position within the Middle School (7-9) at St Joseph’s School, Murray Bridge, with the possibility of teaching another minor subject area. The FTE will be negotiated with the successful applicant. The teacher will: 

Apply curriculum knowledge and pedagogical practices which facilitate successful learning;  Respond to learner’s needs; Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships;  Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities including developing Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL’s), as appropriate;  Plan, assess student learning and report achievement against the standards using the SEQTA platform.  Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments;  

Professional Responsibilities

Actively implement safeguarding practices in accordance with the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards and school policies.  Fulfil all requirements of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.  Actively commit to upholding and contributing to the ethos of Catholic schools in general as well as that of a Josephite school.   Comply with relevant legislation as well as South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) and the school’s policies, guidelines and procedures.  Meet and teach students at designated locations and times.  Diligently undertake supervision duties and adhere to the Protective Practices for Education. Maintain professional boundaries and model respectful behaviour. 

Qualifications and Training

SA Teachers Registration Working with Children Check Approved Mandatory Notification training – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificates (Masterclass & Fundamental courses) Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum certificate First Aid Certificate Be willing to undertake Teacher Accreditation in Catholic Education SA training, along with any other compulsory training necessary for the role.
