Position Summary The Manager, Learning & Development turns organizational and leadership development priorities into well-designed, sustainable learning experiences. Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, this role combines instructional design, learning technology administration, evaluation, and process improvement. The Manager builds and maintains learning solutions across e-learning, instructor-led, and blended formats; administers designated LMS functions for L&D-owned and HR-required compliance learning; and uses data to improve learning quality, transfer, and impact. The role works consultatively with subject matter experts and partners across CCH to support consistent, effective, and sustainable learning practices. Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Learning Design & Development • Design and develop learner-centered experiences across e-learning, instructor-led, virtual, blended, and microlearning formats using adult learning principles and evidence-based instructional design practices. • Translate complex information, policies, and subject matter expertise into clear learning objectives, storyboards, facilitator guides, participant resources, job aids, and digital learning products. • Build and maintain e-learning using Articulate 360 and comparable authoring tools; use AI-assisted design tools appropriately to improve efficiency while retaining human judgment for accuracy, quality, accessibility, and tone. • Design learning paths that connect training, practice, reinforcement, manager support, and follow-up over time to strengthen skill transfer and capability. • Apply and maintain L&D design standards, templates, quality-review practices, and accessibility expectations across learning products. Learning Management System Administration • Administer designated LMS functions for L&D-owned learning programs and organization-wide compliance learning for which People & Culture is responsible for assignment, tracking, or reporting. • Build and maintain in-scope courses, curricula, learning plans, groups, assignment logic, certificates, and reports; archive outdated content and support accurate, role-relevant learning assignments. • Provide support and troubleshooting for in-scope LMS functions, identify recurring support themes, and develop job aids, communications, governance practices, or process improvements that reduce repeat issues. • Partner with HRIS, Information Systems, Quality, and other system owners to resolve technical issues and support learning-system functionality. Measurement, Evaluation & Learning Analytics • Design and administer surveys and other feedback methods to evaluate learning quality, relevance, application, and impact using the Kirkpatrick model and other appropriate evaluation approaches. • Analyze learning participation, completion, engagement, and evaluation data and translate findings into clear reports and visualizations that inform program improvement and decision-making. • Use Excel and available reporting tools to identify patterns, inform program improvement, and support accountability. Process, Workflow & Sustainability • Develop, document, maintain, and improve L&D workflows, SOPs, intake processes, production schedules, and shared resources that support consistent practice and reduce single points of failure. • Maintain clear ownership, review cycles, and quality standards for L&D-managed learning content and processes; identify outdated, duplicative, or inefficient practices and recommend improvements. • Coordinate multiple concurrent learning projects, balancing timelines, stakeholder needs, quality standards, and agreed organizational priorities. Consultation, Facilitation & Partnership • Consult with subject matter experts, leaders, and People & Culture partners to clarify performance or learning needs, determine when training is appropriate, and design practical solutions within L&D priorities and capacity. • Facilitate or co-facilitate selected learning experiences and provide back-up facilitation for L&D-owned programs as needed. • Support administration and debriefing of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) when qualified, and contribute to learning practices that support belonging, cultural awareness, curiosity, and effective work across difference. • Model adaptability, sound judgment, curiosity, and collaborative problem-solving, especially when priorities, systems, or stakeholder needs change. • Ensure timely & accurate use of all company systems as required while maintaining complete up-to-date records and any future upgrades as directed. • Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Licensure and Certifications • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, organizational development, human resources, psychology, communications, or a related field required; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) preferred, not required. • IDI Qualified Administrator credential preferred, or willingness to obtain qualification after hire. Experience • Three years of progressively responsible experience in learning and development, instructional design, adult education, faculty development, or a closely related field, including experience designing and implementing adult learning experiences. • At least one year of hands-on LMS administration experience, including course or curriculum builds, assignments/enrollments, learning plans or groups, and reporting. • Experience developing e-learning or blended learning and working with subject matter experts to translate complex information into usable learning. • Experience collecting, analyzing, and communicating learning or program data using surveys, Excel, and clear data visualizations. • Experience facilitating adult learning in live or virtual settings preferred. Job Competencies • Instructional design and adult learning: working knowledge of ADDIE, learning objectives, practice and reinforcement, blended learning, and accessible learner-centered design. • Learning technology: proficiency with LMS administration and e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360; ability to learn new platforms quickly. • Evaluation and data literacy: ability to design useful surveys, apply the Kirkpatrick model, analyze data in Excel, and translate findings into clear visuals and recommendations. • Process and systems thinking: ability to build practical workflows, SOPs, governance practices, and repeatable processes that improve quality and sustainability. • Project management: ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, organize work, communicate tradeoffs, and follow through on commitments. • Consultation and synthesis: ability to ask strong questions, review and synthesize complex information, clarify needs, and turn ambiguity into practical learning solutions. • Communication and facilitation: strong written, verbal, presentation, and group-facilitation skills with diverse adult learners and stakeholders. • Adaptability and intercultural effectiveness: demonstrates curiosity, self-awareness, openness to feedback, and the ability to work effectively across differences and changing conditions. • AI and emerging learning technologies: Ability to use generative AI and emerging learning technologies to support research, drafting, design, and production while maintaining appropriate human review, confidentiality, accuracy, and instructional judgment.
