Position Summary:
Responsible for two of the four positions associated with the Sylvan Tubing Hill. These areas include patrol areas at the top and bottom of the hill only. No work may take place in the positions of hooking and unloading areas. Report incidents of injury, maintain clean walkways and doorways around the chalet and all appropriate outbuildings and cleaning the chalet. Responds to inquiries from the public. Season dates are variable, although typically December through March.
Examples of Work Performed:
The following duties are typical of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required or assigned.
- Maintain the safe operation of the top and bottom of the hills through communication with patrons and coworkers.
- Assist, as needed, to prepare all required reports on incidents, including patron injury or discipline.
- Report requests for repairs, supplies, and routine or emergency maintenance to the Chalet Manager.
- Cooperate with volunteer groups to ensure the successful completion of special events and programs on site.
- Clean and re-stock supplies and fireplace wood as needed inside the Chalet and perform manual snow removal, as needed, around the chalet and operational buildings
- Report any citizen concerns and complaints to the Chalet Manager.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 16 years of age, ability to successfully communicate with public and ensure a safe experience on the tubing runs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to follow safety rules.
Compensation: Starting hourly rate is $14.50 year one, $14.75 year two, and $15.00 year three. No benefits are provided for these seasonal positions.
Physical Requirements:
High Physical Requirements - Job requires significant physical exertion, with tasks that involve more active movement. This job may include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in manual labor.
