The posting

The Product Development Engineer serves as the subject matter expert in the design, quality and manufacturing of the caps for the CCL Tube Division.

Job Duties:

  • Service as the Subject Matter Expert in the Cap Project for the Canton manufacturing facility
  • Provide overall oversight and support of cap design activities, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Review and evaluate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for accuracy, functionality, and adherence to design standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in product design, quality, and production processes.
  • Recommend design enhancements to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Support design validation, problem-solving, and corrective action activities related to cap design and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
  • Travel as needed

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in product development, preferably within the cosmetics, beauty, or consumer packaging industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of cosmetic and beauty packaging components, with specific expertise in cap and closure design
  • Proven experience managing products through the full development lifecycle, from concept through commercialization
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and product performance requirements for cosmetic packaging
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customers
  • Experience with injection-molded plastic components and closure systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering drawing interpretation
  • Familiarity with quality systems, design reviews, and continuous improvement methodologies

Job Type: Part-Time

Pay: $100.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote, some travel required
