About CCS:

CCS Facility Services is one of the largest building service contractors in the United States, providing expert janitorial and facility engineering services to thousands of commercial businesses with a deep bench of experienced cleaning and engineering professionals. Guided by a Service Heart we are a company Built to Serve with a passion to exceed our customer’s expectations.

Job Details:

CCS Facility Services is seeking a detail-oriented Janitor to clean and maintain a cancer research laboratory. The work follows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, so cleanliness, documentation, and strict adherence to written procedures are essential to protecting research integrity and the health and safety of staff. This role requires a higher level of discipline than standard commercial janitorial work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Controlled Environment Cleaning

  • Clean and disinfect laboratory areas, cleanrooms (if applicable), offices, corridors, lobbies, break rooms, elevators, stairs, and locker rooms according to written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors using approved methods and equipment (such as HEPA-filtered vacuums and color-coded mops/cloths) to prevent cross-contamination between areas.
  • Clean from the cleanest area to the dirtiest, and from top to bottom, following the facility’s contamination-control protocols.
  • Dust and wipe all surfaces, including furniture, counters, lighting fixtures, ledges, and moldings, using only approved low-lint materials.
  • Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture.
  • Wash and clean windows, interior glass, and mirrors.

Disinfection and Infection Control

  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces (desks, door handles, light switches, phones, keyboards, shared equipment, and elevator buttons) using approved disinfectants and the required contact (dwell) times.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies as needed.
  • Properly prepare, dilute, label, and store cleaning chemicals according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and manufacturer instructions.
  • Never mix chemicals, and use only products approved for the facility.

Waste Handling

  • Empty and clean trash and recycling containers and transport waste to the designated disposal area.
  • Correctly separate regular waste, recyclables, and regulated waste (such as biohazard or sharps containers). Employees will not handle or open regulated medical or hazardous waste unless they have been trained and authorized.
  • Immediately report any spill, sharps, or suspected biohazard to a supervisor and do not attempt cleanup without proper training and authorization.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Complete cleaning logs and checklists accurately, in real time, for every area cleaned and inspected (good documentation practice: legible, dated, and signed or initialed).
  • Follow all SOPs, GMP requirements, and client-specific protocols without deviation, and report any deviation immediately.
  • Follow gowning, hand hygiene, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for each area, including gloves, gowns, masks, shoe covers, and hair covers.
  • Observe restricted-access areas, and enter only those areas you are authorized and trained to clean.

Supplies, Safety, and General Duties

  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors.
  • Inspect and report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, or maintenance needs to supervisors.
  • Follow all safety, health, and environmental rules, including Cal/OSHA requirements.
  • Secure and lock doors and exits at the end of the shift.

Qualifications

  • Previous janitorial experience required; experience in a laboratory, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or cleanroom environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMP principles, contamination control, and infection prevention is a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions precisely.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete documentation in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to pass a background check and to complete required vaccinations or health screenings, as permitted by law and required by the client.

Training Provided

  • Bloodborne pathogens and biohazard awareness
  • Hazard communication and chemical safety (SDS)
  • GMP and contamination-control training
  • Proper use of PPE and gowning procedures

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and to a laboratory environment that may involve biological or hazardous materials. PPE and training are provided.
  • Night shift work.

  • Lavar y limpiar ventanas, vidrios interiores y espejos.

Suministros, Seguridad y Funciones Generales

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
