Our highly skilled oncology nurses on the Medical Oncology Team in the Clinic Exam Area thrive in a collaborative ambulatory environment that values meaningful patient connections. They are committed to delivering outstanding clinical care.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to patients receiving medical oncology services in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and coordinate appropriate clinical interventions.
  • Support physicians and the interdisciplinary care team during clinic visits, examinations, and procedures.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, symptom management, medications, and supportive care resources.
  • Promote continuity of care through effective communication, care coordination, and patient advocacy.
  • Recognize clinical concerns and escalate appropriately to support patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model by sharing expertise and supporting the development of colleagues.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing advancement of oncology nursing practice.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN or higher preferred.

License and Certification

  • Current California RN license required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required. Certification must remain valid for at least 60 days after the hire date.
  • Specialty certification, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), required within one year of hire. (External applicants may have one year to obtain)

Experience

  • Minimum of three years of recent RN experience in oncology or a related specialty.
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards of practice.
  • Demonstrated dedication to customer service and the ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and healthcare colleagues.
