CEL Critical Power is a global provider of mission-critical power solutions operating at the centre of the AI, hyperscale data centre and critical infrastructure ecosystem. Demand for CEL’s products is strong and accelerating. The challenge is not sales demand, it is executing growth at pace without compromising delivery certainty, production discipline or customer trust. Operating from its Irish base, CEL continues to scale its production capability in parallel with its US expansion, with similar ambitions to significantly increase output over the coming years. Ireland remains central to CEL’s global operating model and will continue to play a critical role in delivering high-quality, engineered products at scale.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Services Engineer to take ownership of the maintenance, servicing and lifecycle upgrade of LV switchgear and power distribution systems across our customers’ critical sites. This is a senior, customer-facing technical role for someone who is trusted to make decisions independently on live critical-environment sites, and who raises the standard of the team around them.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), emergency call-out support, fault diagnosis, lifecycle replacement projects and assisting with business development activities across low and medium voltage electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance and inspection of LV and MV electrical switchgear systems.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance activities in line with customer contracts and company standards.
- Conduct testing, servicing, and reporting on LV and MV distribution equipment.
- Support production relay testing, breaker maintenance, insulation testing, and functional verification activities where applicable.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations, procedures, and switching controls.
- Respond to customer breakdowns and emergency callouts when required.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults within LV and MV switchgear systems.
- Identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to customers during outage or fault conditions.
- Support safe isolation, switching operations, and restoration of electrical systems where authorised.
- Assist with project planning, site surveys, shutdown coordination, switching schedules, and commissioning activities.
- Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, test records, and service reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify opportunities for additional maintenance services, upgrades and replacement projects.
- Represent the company professionally during customer meetings and site visits.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician and/or Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in electrical service, maintenance or commissioning.
- Experience working with LV and/or MV electrical switchgear systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across power distribution systems.
- Experience carrying out electrical maintenance and PPM activities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, protection drawings, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with electrical isolation procedures and safe systems of work.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage site-based activities
Desirable:
- Experience in critical environments such as data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, utilities, or manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of protection systems, transformers, power distribution, and busbar systems.
- Experience supporting shutdowns, switching operations, and electrical projects
