The posting

Position summary

The Director, AI Enablement, leads enterprise business transformation through practical, responsible AI across Central Bancompany. This role leads the AI Innovation Hub and partners with business leaders to redesign workflows and customer journeys, turning opportunities into adopted capabilities with measurable value. The Director connects business priorities, technology delivery, data readiness and independent risk oversight. Business leaders own their priorities, adoption and outcomes; the Director establishes the partnerships and operating discipline that enable sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-lead discovery workshops with Retail, Commercial, Mortgage, Wealth, Operations and market leaders to identify AI opportunities that improve service, productivity, quality and decision-making.
  • Assist business leaders with AI-enabled redesign of end-to-end workflows and customer journeys, challenging existing processes and identifying shared capabilities that benefit multiple business lines where possible.
  • Build business sponsorship, clarify adoption and outcome ownership and resolve competing priorities through influence, facilitation and escalation.
  • Lead the Hub’s operating model: one enterprise intake and backlog, opportunity assessment, stage gates, prioritization recommendations, progress checkpoints and quarterly portfolio reviews.
  • Assist in developing business cases with sponsors and Finance, establish baseline and target measures before work begins and track realized value, costs and adoption.
  • Partner with CTS architecture, programming and delivery teams on feasibility, data readiness and integration dependencies; evaluate whether to activate existing tools, buy capabilities or selectively build.
  • Engage Risk, Compliance and Legal early; treat required approvals as implementation gates. Help coordinate compliance with approved-use, privacy, security and model-risk requirements, supporting Risk’s model inventory while preserving independent governance oversight.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence, Data and Analytics teams to use business insights to identify AI opportunities, align initiatives with shared enterprise data and analytics capabilities and support reliable outcome measurement.
  • Assist business owners with adoption planning, coordinate role-based training and champion approved tool and knowledge catalogs informed by usage feedback.
  • Report on pipeline, delivery, realized value, spend, risks and blockers to executives; present investment recommendations and proposed decisions for Executive Committee approval.
  • Assess vendors against business needs and value, partnering with CTS, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Procurement on technical evaluation, controls, contracts and purchasing.
  • Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and industry practices, translating practical findings into business opportunities within established controls.
  • Coach partners, establish repeatable enablement practices and help shape team capabilities and responsibilities as the organization evolves.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Proven cross-functional transformation, product, program or innovation leadership, delivering implementation, adoption and measurable business outcomes.
  • Creative and strategic problem-solving, a holistic enterprise perspective and demonstrated ability to redesign processes and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong executive facilitation and communication with technical and nontechnical audiences; ability to influence without direct authority and resolve competing priorities.
  • Experience developing business cases, defining success measures and evaluating investment tradeoffs, adoption and realized benefits.
  • Working knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations and potential business applications, supported by curiosity, sound judgment and a demonstrated ability to learn emerging technologies. Ability to partner with technical and risk specialists to assess opportunities and support responsible adoption; AI research or engineering expertise is not required.
  • Strong portfolio management, change leadership and organizational execution, with the ability to establish discipline and deliver in an evolving organization.
  • Strong general business acumen, particularly in business transformation, operations, product management or strategy.

Relevant capabilities may be demonstrated through varied career paths and equivalent experience; no specific degree or certification is required.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working in banking or regulated financial services, with a foundational understanding of banking products, customer needs, operations and business strategies, sufficient to engage credibly with leaders across business lines. Deep expertise in individual banking disciplines is not required.
  • Practical experience applying AI tools or contributing to AI-enabled business initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data, semantic models, integration and modernization dependencies.
  • Relevant change management, product or program management credentials are welcome but not required.

Work location and collaboration

This position may be based in any major Central Bancompany market (Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbia, Jefferson City, or Springfield, Missouri.) Regular in-person collaboration with the Chief Enterprise Architect, business leaders and delivery partners is essential. Travel between company locations is expected to support relationship building, working sessions and implementation activities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
