Job Summary:
Do you enjoy solving complex problems, uncovering trends in data, and keeping critical projects moving forward? As a Project Controls Engineer at Centrus Energy, you’ll help power the future by providing analysis, planning, and controls that keep major energy projects on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance. Working closely with Project Managers, Control Account Managers (CAMs), and cross-functional teams, you’ll translate data into strategy—offering clarity, confidence, and direction at every stage of project execution.
What You Will Do:
- Architect Project Baselines: Develop comprehensive, integrated baseline schedules, cost estimates, and risk considerations in collaboration with project teams
- Coordinate & Control: Lead planning, scheduling, monitoring, configuration control, analysis, and reporting across multiple scopes of varying size, complexity, and level of risk
- Drive Performance: Monitor, analyze, and update schedule and cost performance weekly/monthly to ensure accuracy and integrity, provide tools to keep project on track
- Manage the Critical Path: Actively maintain schedule logic, dependencies, and critical path to prevent bottlenecks and anticipate impacts
- Deliver Actionable Insights: Prepare clear cost and schedule reports, conduct variance analysis, perform analysis and document trending, and support corrective actions
- Control Changes: Lead the change control process, ensuring scope changes are properly evaluated, tracked, and documented
- Forecast & Budget: Support budgeting and forecasting for project planning and fiscal year planning
We’d Love to Hear From People With:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 4+ years of project controls experience supporting engineering, construction, or similar technical projects
- 4+ years of experience using Primavera P6
- 3+ years working with Cobra, or comparable cost systems
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- PMI PMP or PMI-SP certification, or AACE certification
- Experience supporting DOE or NRC projects
- Experience in highly regulated, complex project environments
- Ability to resolve complex issues, and operate under minimal supervision
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of key project controls practices: WBS development, schedule logic, critical path analysis, cost engineering, change control, what-if analysis, and status reporting
- Current "Q" security clearance
Pay:
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $76,010 - $126,683. This position is incentive eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
