The posting

Why Charlie Health?

Millions of people across the country are navigating mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and eating disorders, but too often, they’re met with barriers to care. From limited local options and long wait times to treatment that lacks personalization, behavioral healthcare can leave people feeling unseen and unsupported.

Charlie Health exists to change that. Our mission is to connect the world to life-saving behavioral health treatment. We deliver personalized, virtual care rooted in connection—between clients and clinicians, care teams, loved ones, and the communities that support them. By focusing on people with complex needs, we’re expanding access to meaningful care and driving better outcomes from the comfort of home.

As a rapidly growing organization, we're reaching more communities every day and building a team that’s redefining what behavioral health treatment can look like. If you're ready to use your skills to drive lasting change and help more people access the care they deserve, we’d love to meet you.

About the Role

Charlie Health is one of the fastest-growing startups in the healthcare industry, working tirelessly to connect people everywhere to life-saving behavioral health treatment.

As a Regional Director, SUD Outreach, you will lead a founding go-to-market team responsible for scaling Charlie Health's Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program across a state-wide or multi-state region. SUD represents our current major growth vertical, and you will be charged with building and running the regional playbook. You will manage and support the SUD Territory Managers who represent Charlie Health in the region, and you'll work hand-in-hand with our leadership team to define how we open and win in these markets.

You and your team will shape how Charlie Health engages referral partners in key SUD settings such as detox centers, residential treatment centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other SUD-focused organizations. You'll make sure these partners understand how our comprehensive SUD treatment and mental health programs support individuals on the path to recovery, and you'll obsess (in a healthy way) over ensuring that every SUD provider, patient, and family in your region is aware of Charlie Health's programs.

This role is best suited for a leader who thrives in high-accountability environments and wants to help build something meaningful from the ground up. You'll be granted an unparalleled level of responsibility while collaborating with sharp, spirited, ambitious, and mission-driven coworkers. In turn, you will drive field execution, develop your team, create accountability, use data and strategy to make decisions, and ultimately build a culture that consistently produces results.

At Charlie Health, we believe in leading with our “why” and connecting with our purpose every day. Join us to find not only a career but a calling.

Responsibilities

  • Own your region’s admissions goals; this role will be responsible for the team's overall performance, which may include carrying a book subject to current team size and growth
  • Manage and lead a team of SUD Territory Managers, ensuring that regional performance goals are met or exceeded
  • Cultivate a positive, high-energy, team-first culture that balances recognition, healthy competition, collaboration, urgency, and accountability
  • Hold your team accountable to activating new relationships and maintaining and growing existing relationships. Build accountability around declining relationships, and study and celebrate growing ones to replicate what's working
  • Enforce core expectations around calls, meetings, travel and field presence
  • Measure and own KPIs across your region, reporting upwards on a regular basis
  • Coach your team on in-field outreach and join them in the field regularly (2-3 days per week), observing execution, identifying skill gaps, reinforcing strengths, and following through on development
  • Build data literacy to quickly interpret performance data, identify trends and gaps, and make rapid decisions to drive outcomes
  • Partner with Growth Strategy and other internal stakeholders to proactively identify high-potential opportunities, and translate strategy into field execution
  • Represent Charlie Health in community settings as well as industry events, conferences, and educational sessions to promote awareness of our SUD program
  • Collect and synthesize feedback from partners, patients, and stakeholders to refine messaging, positioning, and go-forward marketing, operational, and product strategies

Requirements

  • 6-10+ years of business development experience, including 2-3+ years of experience in sales leadership
  • Experience in healthcare or behavioral health outreach preferred
  • Familiarity with the SUD treatment ecosystem and community ties across the region preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRM (Salesforce preferred), scheduling, and video conferencing technologies
  • Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency
  • Demonstrated track record of top-tier performance in the development, maintenance, and growth of customer accounts in a B2B / outreach setting
  • Experience managing, coaching, and motivating a business development team
  • Experience measuring, analyzing, and being accountable to well-defined sales metrics/KPIs
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and listening skills, with a natural, consultative style
  • Ability to energize, communicate, and build rapport at all levels within an organization
  • Ability to travel locally (within ~1 hour driving distance) for meetings with potential referral partners
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive up to 1-hour each way on a regular basis
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrable ability to corral and manage details in a fast-paced, fluid environment
  • Expert in advising, presenting to, and persuading senior corporate personnel

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
