The posting

Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business where our will to grow drives us to do it better. Join the team and become part of our family!

At Charter Steel, Finance is more than a reporting function. It is a true partner to the business. We are looking for a strategic finance leader who can help shape the direction of our business, bring strong financial and business acumen to important decisions, and work collaboratively across functions to turn strategy into action.

This leader will play an important role in helping Charter Steel plan for both today and the future, leading short- and long-term forecasting, annual business planning, financial analysis and reporting, and the monthly financial close. They will serve as a trusted financial partner to our leadership team while also leading the finance team supporting our Commercial and Supply Chain organizations and General Accounting.

Our leadership culture is highly collaborative, and this role will work closely with leaders across the broader organization. We are looking for someone who can understand the business beyond the numbers. Someone who can connect financial insight to business strategy, challenge thinking constructively, identify opportunities and help leaders make informed decisions.

Just as important, we are looking for an exceptional people leader. Someone who enjoys building capability, developing talent and creating an environment where people are challenged, supported and connected to the broader business. The right leader will combine strong financial expertise with curiosity, sound judgment, business partnership and the ability to influence well beyond the Finance organization.

  • Lead and continuously improve monthly financial reporting, forecasting models, analytical tools, and processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and value to the business.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for key accounting and financial activities, including the monthly close, balance sheet review, financial controls, and related business-cycle requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, building stronger financial, analytical, and business-partnership capabilities across the organization.
  • Use data, analytics, technology, and business intelligence tools to improve reporting, identify trends, and support faster, more informed decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally on strategic initiatives, financial modeling, Continuous Improvement efforts, and organizational change.
  • Build strong relationships across Charter Steel and the broader organization, using business acumen and financial expertise to influence decisions and drive results.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
