WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As an Assistant Project Manager at Choate Construction, you play a key support role in helping guide projects from early planning through successful completion, knowing that your contributions directly impact our clients, project teams, and communities. This position is ideal for professionals with at least three years of experience in a commercial construction–oriented entry‑level role who are eager to grow their careers and take on increasing responsibility. Reporting to and working closely with the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will assist with the daily management, coordination, and administration of projects, supporting efforts related to contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and cost control. You will collaborate alongside the field Superintendent and project team to help ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while gaining hands‑on exposure to the full lifecycle of a construction project. With Choate’s tools, mentorship, and support, you will continue developing the skills and confidence needed to grow into expanded project leadership roles.

  • You take safety personally, actively partnering with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Safety team to implement and uphold project‑specific safety plans so every worker goes home safely each day.
  • You are detail‑oriented and curious, taking the time to understand contract requirements, assist with subcontracts and purchase orders, and communicate potential risks or changes early.
  • You enjoy being involved early in the process, contributing during preconstruction, supporting logistics and scheduling efforts, and helping ensure the project is set up for success before work begins.
  • You thrive in a learning‑forward environment, supporting construction planning, financial tracking, and BIM/VDC coordination while actively investing in your own professional growth and readiness for greater responsibility.
