Job Description

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma seeks an enthusiastic Host for the 1832 Steakhouse in Durant. In this front‑of‑house role you will be the first point of contact for guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing reservations and waitlists, and supporting the service team to ensure seamless, high‑quality dining experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests promptly with a warm, upbeat demeanor
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments using the restaurant’s system
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and handle special requests
  • Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to maintain flow
  • Maintain an organized and clean host station and lobby area
  • Provide accurate information about menus, specials, and dining policies
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as daily reports and guest feedback logs
  • Monitor and adjust seating plans to optimize turnover and guest satisfaction
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and resolve issues quickly
  • Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and shift handovers

Qualifications

  • Upbeat, friendly personality with strong people skills
  • Excellent memory for names, reservations, and special guest preferences
  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
  • 1+ years experience in front‑desk, restaurant service, or similar hospitality role
  • Administrative background preferred (e.g., data entry, scheduling)
  • Knowledge of fine‑dining etiquette and service standards
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable transportation to the Durant location
  • High school diploma or GED; additional hospitality training a plus
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb
