Job Summary We're looking for a Plasma Operator to operate plasma coating equipment and support the processing of aerospace components in a manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll apply coatings using low-pressure, robotic, and manual air spray systems, monitor process parameters, perform routine equipment maintenance, and ensure all work is completed to quality and production standards.   Work That Matters At Chromalloy, your work directly supports aviation safety and reliability. What you do here has real-world impact—every day.   Shift: 4th shift, Friday-Sunday 7:00am-7:00pm Union: This position is represented by Local 475. Starting Rate: $28.64/hr Training: New hires must be available to train on 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00a-3:00p for a minimum of 90 days before transitioning to their regularly assigned shift.   What You’ll Be Doing

Operate low-pressure plasma coating, robotic spray, and manual air spray systems to apply coatings to aerospace components. Select and verify the appropriate powder specifications for each component and process. Produce components in accordance with approved procedures and specifications. Read and monitor pressure gauges, flow meters, and other process controls to ensure proper equipment operation. Perform routine maintenance on plasma equipment, including powder specification changes, nozzle and electrode replacement, and powder feed line changes. Inspect and verify component dimensions using precision measuring tools and gauges. Follow detailed work instructions, process specifications, and quality requirements. Maintain production schedules while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Perform other duties as assigned.

  What We’re Looking For

High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of experience operating low-pressure plasma coating, robotic spray, or manual air spray systems. Experience selecting powders and coating parameters for production components. Experience using measuring instruments to verify critical dimensions. Ability to read and interpret pressure gauges, flow meters, and process indicators. Experience performing routine maintenance on plasma coating equipment. Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and manufacturing procedures. Ability to wear a respirator and comply with all PPE requirements. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

  Nice to Have

Autobody, mechanical, or industrial equipment maintenance background. Experience in aerospace manufacturing or thermal spray operations. Experience using hand tools, gauges, and measuring equipment. Previous manufacturing experience working in a controlled process environment. Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, fumes, and varying temperatures. Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching throughout the workday. Regular lifting and movement of materials up to 30 pounds. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety requirements.
