CHT Care Homes is a trusted not-for-profit organisation with over 60 years’ experience supporting older New Zealanders. With 23 care homes across the North Island, we are values-led and grounded in care, compassion, comfort, companionship and connectedness. We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to strengthen health, safety and wellbeing across our care homes. You’ll build trusted relationships, influence leaders and turn health and safety insights into practical action. About the role Working across CHT, you’ll provide practical advice and support to managers and teams, build capability and strengthen health, safety and wellbeing. You will:
Support ACC and injury management, including safe and sustainable return-to-work plans Work with managers to identify and manage health and safety risks, incidents, near misses and corrective actions Analyse health and safety data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement Support Health & Safety Representatives and build health and safety capability across the organisation Coordinate wellbeing initiatives and support CHT’s Wellness Champions Provide health, safety and wellbeing reporting and insights to leaders and governance groups
What you’ll bring We’re looking for a practical, people-focused health and safety professional with:
At least five years’ health and safety experience Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation, WorkSafe guidance and ACC processes Experience analysing data and using insights to drive continuous improvement Strong communication, relationship-building and influencing skills A recognised health and safety qualification or equivalent relevant experience Healthcare or aged-care experience is an advantage, but not essential
