Our client, a large-scale organization in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, is expanding its Finance Analytics capability and needs a seasoned Data Product Manager to lead critical data products that support financial reporting, profitability analysis, management decision-making, and monthly financial closing processes. This role operates at the intersection of Finance, Data, and Technology — and is central to the reliability and continuity of financial intelligence at scale.

As the functional owner of Finance Analytics products, this professional translates financial business rules and stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements for Data Developer teams, while maintaining operational continuity, documentation quality, and governance discipline. The engineering implementation remains with a dedicated technical team; this role owns the what, the why, and the outcome.

Responsibilities:

  • Functional Ownership: Own the full lifecycle of Finance Analytics products — from business discovery and prioritization through validation, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Interface: Act as the primary point of connection between Finance stakeholders, Data Developer teams, Analytics specialists, and platform teams — translating financial discussions into clear, testable, and achievable requirements.
  • Closing Coordination: Support the monthly financial closing process by coordinating checkpoints, monitoring business-critical dependencies, consolidating risks, and ensuring functional validation of results.
  • Business Rule Governance: Define, coordinate, document, and manage the approval of financial business rules — ensuring that changes to calculations, allocation methodologies, classifications, or managerial reporting have formal business sign-off before implementation.
  • Financial Investigation: Lead the business investigation of financial divergences, anomalies, reconciliation gaps, and unexpected movements — structuring hypotheses, assessing materiality, mobilizing subject-matter experts, and coordinating technical analysis.
  • Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the functional backlog by balancing financial impact, operational risk, business urgency, technical feasibility, and stakeholder expectations.
  • KPI & Documentation Management: Define and maintain functional definitions of financial KPIs, including calculation logic, business ownership, source dependencies, granularity, validation criteria, and downstream impacts.
  • Incident Coordination: Partner with Data Developer teams on production incidents by determining business criticality, expected behavior, and communication priorities — without owning the technical resolution.
  • Governance & Knowledge Management: Build and maintain operational documentation — including business rules, closing procedures, decision logs, known exceptions, and stakeholder maps — to reduce dependency on individual contributors and institutionalize organizational knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Advanced English proficiency ( mandatory )
  • Professional background in Finance Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, Management Accounting, Controllership, Commercial Finance, or Business Intelligence — with strong command of P&L structures, including Gross Revenue, Net Revenue, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Gross Profit, Contribution Margin, Trade Promotion, allocations, provisions, and financial reconciliations
  • Demonstrated experience managing data products, analytics products, or complex data-driven initiatives — including backlog ownership, business rule definition, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience supporting or closely coordinating monthly financial closing processes — with the ability to distinguish data issues from accounting, classification, timing, or business-rule issues
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial requirements into clear, structured, and testable specifications for technical teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills — able to navigate competing priorities across Finance, Controllership, Accounting, Tax, Commercial Finance, Technology, and senior leadership
  • Sufficient understanding of data architecture and analytical workflows — including source, transformation, semantic, and consumption layers — to assess business impact, validate outcomes, and coordinate with Data Developer teams without performing hands-on technical implementation
  • Basic to intermediate SQL proficiency for data validation and exploratory analysis

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the CPG, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), retail, food and beverage, or manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with SAP Finance, SAP Controlling, SAP Material Ledger, or Cost of Production Analysis (COPA)
  • Experience with profitability analytics at customer, product, channel, region, or plant level
  • Familiarity with enterprise reporting environments and semantic models for business consumption
  • Experience with financial planning, forecasting, or performance-management platforms
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality practices
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence or automation initiatives applied to financial processes or knowledge management
  • Experience building runbooks, KPI dictionaries, business-rule catalogs, or decision logs

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
