About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Java Backend Developer to join our Level 3 (L3) Application Support team, supporting a large-scale B2B e-commerce platform in the alcoholic beverage industry, currently operating across 40 countries.

In this role, you will focus on ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of backend applications, investigating complex technical incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues, maintain microservices and APIs, and continuously improve application quality and operational efficiency.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong Java development background who enjoys technical investigation, problem-solving, and working with complex distributed systems in a production environment.

What you will do:

  • Provide Level 3 (L3) technical support for backend applications developed with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application incidents and production issues escalated from previous support levels.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA), identify recurring issues, and implement long-term fixes to prevent incidents.
  • Analyze application logs, errors, and performance metrics using monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve microservices, RESTful APIs, and system integrations.
  • Investigate issues involving relational and non-relational databases, including data access and persistence using Spring Data and JPA.
  • Troubleshoot asynchronous communication and messaging integrations using technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
  • Implement bug fixes, code improvements, and preventive solutions to enhance application stability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito to validate fixes and reduce regression risks.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and other support teams to resolve incidents and improve system reliability.
  • Support application deployment and CI/CD processes, working with technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Document technical investigations, solutions, and recurring issues to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Must-have:

  • Solid hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience in application support, production troubleshooting, or maintenance of backend systems, preferably in L3 support environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and identify root causes.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience analyzing application logs, monitoring system behavior, and investigating performance issues.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools, such as New Relic.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL queries and persistence frameworks such as Spring Data and JPA.
  • Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, including JUnit and Mockito.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, clean code, and software engineering best practices.
  • Understanding of testing methodologies, including unit, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
  • Proactive mindset, ownership, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Upper-intermediate to advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in an international environment.
