In your role as Software Engineer, you will validate and integrate Cisco Enterprise solutions that are deployed by some of the top-tier customers in the world. You will work on networking equipment that forms a crucial part of the controller-based solution. You will learn about state-of-the-art technologies and platforms while testing software for these products.

As a member of this team, you will work with a team of credible engineers and leaders. You will have the opportunity to drive controller-based solutions, developing tools and methodology to optimize your daily activities. You will have the opportunity to interact and work closely with some of the finest talent pool in the industry, and the opportunity to represent Cisco towards enabling the support of newer customer business paradigms.

You have good knowledge of and exposure to network protocols as well as customer profiles and solutions are important for success in this role.

Bachelor/Masters with 2-4 years of related experience in networking, Ethernet Switching technology and Automation .

Experience in 2 or more of the following areas:

  • Strong foundation in Layer 2 switching and routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, RIP, and IS-IS, as well as first-hop redundancy protocols such as HSRP and VRRP.
  • Wireless fundamentals: Understand 802.11 Wi‑Fi standards, 2.4/5/6 GHz bands, channels and channel width, basic RF concepts (signal strength, SNR, interference), access point and controller architecture, Wi‑Fi security (WPA2/WPA3 and 802.1X), client roaming, and basic wireless troubleshooting.
  • Cisco Networking certificates, such as CCNA, CCNP, etc. are highly desirable.
  • Encapsulation protocols like MPLS / MPLS-TE, GRE, LISP, EoMPLS, VPLS, MGRE, VXLAN, Bonjour.
  • MACsec, CTS, SGACL, IPSEC, First Hop Security, ACL Policies, Network Data Analytics, Dot1X.
  • Strong Automation skills, using Python, or other object-oriented languages.
  • Strong knowledge in Cloud-based controller and Cloud technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments, with knowledge of virtualization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, influential, decision-making, leadership, team, and people skills.
