The posting

The Deputy Counsel is an intermediate position responsible for managing a variety of day-to-day legal activities in coordination with the Legal team. The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice and guidance across a broad range of practice areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate employee performance and provide recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Supervise external counsel and resolve issues, escalating to manager as needed
  • Provide legal advice in one area of practice within a product, country or business
  • Analyze documentation against regulatory requirements and internal policies to advise business accordingly
  • Produce internal and external documents containing strategic recommendations with respect to matters managed for senior attorneys/country counsel review
  • Execute tasks that support the fulfillment of the Firm's overall obligations and responsibilities
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Juris Doctorate preferred
  • Relevant experience preferably from another bank or law firm
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws and practices
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Abogado Sr. de Estructuración y Documentación de Crédito

Ubicación: Zapopan, Jalisco (Deseable) Pero puedes aplicar también desde CDMX o el Interior de la Republica (Esquema híbrido)

Objetivo de la Posición

Brindar asesoría legal especializada en operaciones de financiamiento para Banca Empresarial e Institucional, participando en la estructuración, revisión, negociación y formalización de contratos de crédito y documentación relacionada, asegurando el cumplimiento regulatorio, la adecuada mitigación de riesgos legales y la protección de los intereses de la institución.

Responsabilidades Principales

  • Estructurar, revisar y negociar contratos de crédito y documentación legal asociada a operaciones de financiamiento para clientes empresariales e institucionales.
  • Asesorar en financiamientos corporativos, créditos inmobiliarios (Real Estate) y esquemas de garantías.
  • Elaborar y revisar contratos de crédito, convenios, garantías, fideicomisos, hipotecas, prendas y demás documentos legales relacionados con operaciones bancarias.
  • Analizar estructuras corporativas y la vida societaria de personas morales para asegurar la adecuada formalización de las operaciones.
  • Identificar riesgos legales, regulatorios, operativos y reputacionales, proponiendo alternativas de mitigación alineadas al apetito de riesgo de la institución.
  • Colaborar estrechamente con áreas de Negocio, Riesgo, Crédito, Operaciones y Compliance para la ejecución oportuna de las transacciones.
  • Asegurar que la documentación contractual cumpla con la regulación bancaria y financiera aplicable.
  • Gestionar simultáneamente múltiples transacciones bajo plazos exigentes, manteniendo altos estándares de calidad y precisión jurídica.

Experiencia Requerida

  • Licenciatura en Derecho (titulado).
  • 3+ años de experiencia en instituciones financieras, banca múltiple, despachos especializados en financiamiento o áreas legales corporativas.
  • Inglés Intermedio-Avanzado (Indispensable)
  • Experiencia comprobable en: Financiamiento corporativo. Contratación bancaria. Documentación crediticia. Créditos para Banca Empresarial e Institucional. Créditos inmobiliarios (Real Estate Financing). Constitución y revisión de garantías. Análisis de estructuras corporativas y gobierno societario.
