The posting

Who Are We? City FM Australia provides facilities management, engineering and maintenance services to some of Australia's most recognised brands. Our Engineering, Construction & Energy team supports the delivery of technical projects in partnership with Coles, bringing together engineering expertise, contractors and key stakeholders. We focus on safe, practical project delivery, maintaining quality standards and continuously improving how our work is planned, commissioned and handed over.

The Opportunity:

Coordinate mechanical installations from planning through to completion, keeping scope, timelines, costs and quality on track. Manage project milestones, changing requirements, risks and issues, working with stakeholders to resolve challenges early. Oversee contractors and subcontractors delivering mechanical installation and commissioning works. Lead commissioning and handover activities, verifying installations and witnessing equipment performance against specification. Drive quality, compliance and continuous improvement across mechanical project delivery and commissioning.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate mechanical project installations from planning through to completion, ensuring agreed scope, timelines, costs and quality requirements are maintained. Manage project milestones, scope changes, risks and issues, working with stakeholders to resolve problems and keep delivery on track. Oversee contractors and subcontractors completing mechanical project and commissioning works for Coles supermarkets. Lead commissioning and project handover activities, verifying mechanical installations and witnessing equipment operation against specified requirements. Drive compliance, quality and continuous improvement across mechanical project delivery and commissioning, including alignment with City FM requirements, industry practice and relevant codes.

What we are looking for:

Degree or Diploma qualification in a relevant engineering stream or trade qualification with relevant technical experience. Restricted Electrical Licence and Arctick Refrigerant Handling Licence. Minimum 5 years' practical experience in project management and project commissioning. Proven capability in delivering mechanical installation and commissioning projects to time, budget and quality requirements. Experience supervising contractors and coordinating project delivery. Strong communication and negotiation skills across contractors, consultants and business stakeholders. Ability to troubleshoot technical and project issues, manage changing requirements and keep delivery moving..

Why You'll Love This Role

Own projects through to handover rather than working on just one part of the project lifecycle. Stay close to the technical work, combining mechanical knowledge with practical project delivery. See the outcome of your work by commissioning installations and verifying systems perform as specified. Work across new stores and supermarket renewals, giving you variety across different project environments. Build broad stakeholder exposure, working with engineering teams, contractors, consultants and Coles project stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
