Energy Management serves as the hub for energy efficiency and emissions reduction throughout NYC government operations, supporting our agency partners’ progress towards the City’s major emissions reduction and energy objectives. The Energy Management team concentrates their efforts in six areas: the City’s energy supply, clean energy generation, demand response & load management, energy efficient operations & maintenance, energy efficiency retrofit projects, and energy training & innovation.
The Analyst’s responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Develop new reporting and analytics solutions, and develop and document best practices around DEM data collection, maintenance, reporting, and sharing; - Maintain data integrity in our shared drives; develop data QA protocols and standard operating procedures; - Perform data reconciliation where necessary and develop new methods for improving accuracy and efficiency where appropriate; - Develop data QA protocols and standard operating procedures - Develop visualizations and user interfaces such as dashboards using Power BI; This position will require regular data entry and management and other projects assigned. - Make recommendations on policies and procedures. - Support organizational development through staff engagement activities and other team-building exercises - Assist with internal communications regarding policies, procedures and other DEM messaging - Assist with other assignments as assigned.

Qualifications
1. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health. To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have: 1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or 2. A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in "2" above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in "1" and "2" above.
NOTE: Probationary Period Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year.
