Applicants must be either permanent in the Principal Administrative Associate civil service title or reachable on the current civil service exam #3116 list or be permanent in a comparable title eligible for 6.1.9 title change (e.g. Staff Analyst) or eligible for the 55-a program. **** Please indicate your civil service status on your cover letter and / or resume.

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By “Pursuing Justice with Integrity,” the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. By recognizing these significant distinctions and acting accordingly, BXDA has established a standard of excellence in the representation of the Bronx community at large, which continues to grow stronger every day. In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks a skilled and highly engaged Human Resources Recruitment Coordinator.

Human Resources (HR) is an integral part of the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, playing a crucial role of shaping the agency culture, promoting career growth, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring the sustainability of the agency. The Human Resources Coordinator support the agency’s Human Resources functions including personnel services, classification, recruitment, civil service administration. This Human Resources Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for performing recruitment, on-boarding, and personnel activities.

Job Responsibilities: Specific duties include but not limited to the following:

- Creating job postings and ensure that job description follows citywide requirements and DCAS policies.

- Reviewing applicant resumes and qualifications to determine suitability for meeting the minimum qualifications of the position.

- Coordinating the logistics of candidate interviews, including scheduling, panel coordination, and candidate communication.

- Processing new hires, transfers and promotions in compliance with citywide requirements and DCAS policies.

- Initiate all tracking and work processes in the recruitment and processing of the pre-selected candidates; ensure that the candidate completes the requested action.

- Entering data for various personnel transactions within NYCAPS, as well as generate HR reports.

- Representing the agency at hiring events (community fairs, job fairs and career fairs)

- Managing civil service appointment list process and facilitate hiring pools.

- Processing civil service transactions including DP-72 and DP-189.

- Facilitating the onboarding of new hires and transfers by ensuring completion of all necessary documents and information have been reviewed and submitted, including civil service processing.

- Serve as the main point of contact for selected candidates, managing communications, job offers, and onboarding paperwork (background checks, fingerprinting, etc.).

- Review and maintain all pertinent pre-onboarding documentation.

- Manage full-cycle recruitment within NYCAPS eHire.

- Assisting employees with navigating NYCAPS / ESS.

- Providing updates on personnel transactions, positions, and vacancies as requested.

PPREFERRED SKILLS:

- 3 years of Human Resources experience within NYC government - Experience working with City HRIS systems and applications, including SmartRecruiters, NYCAPS, PRISE, PMS, CHRMS - Proficient with using Adobe Pro, MS Office Suite and Outlook - Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with all levels at the agency - Strong analytical and computer skills - Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong and demonstrable skills in relationship-building, candidate sourcing, and database management

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or

2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or

3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a state’s department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above; or

4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3 year.
