Job Summary
Performs professional work as the primary administrative and communications resource for Transportation Department projects and initiatives. The position engages affected communities and key stakeholders to gather input, provide project updates, and communicate important information throughout the life of a project. Responsibilities include researching, writing, and distributing a variety of communications materials, including website content, public notices, presentations, correspondence, social media, and other public information. The position also researches and shares best practices related to transportation projects and initiatives. Organizes, coordinates, publicizes, and conducts community and neighborhood meetings to provide information about Transportation Department projects and services. Works closely with project managers, consultants, City departments, partner agencies, and elected officials to ensure communications are timely, accurate, and consistent. Work is performed under the supervision of the Transportation Policy Manager/Transportation Director and includes both office and fieldwork. Performance is reviewed through discussions and evaluation of results achieved. Evening and weekend work is required
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Public Relations, Community Relations, Communications, Planning, or related field and a minimum of three (3) years experience in developing and administering neighborhood or community outreach programs required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Knowledge of personal computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
