The posting

As a Senior Solutions Sales Manager, Research & Analytics you’ll partner closely with our Academic Field Sales team to drive growth across the US Market, selling best‑in‑class solutions within our Research & Analytics portfolio. You’ll play a critical role in bringing products like Web of Science, Web of Science Research Intelligence (our newest go‑to‑market platform), InCites, Pivot‑RP, and more to universities—helping institutions advance research, teaching, and assessment initiatives.

This is a highly collaborative, growth‑focused role where you’ll own product‑led sales strategy, build a strong pipeline, increase deal sizes, and drive cross‑sell expansion within existing Academic customers—while also supporting selective new logo acquisition. Reporting to the Director of Research & Analytics Sales, Americas, you’ll work alongside Account Managers and key commercial partners to execute impactful sales strategies and deliver meaningful results.

If you’re energized by consultative selling, complex solutions, and helping academic institutions unlock the power of research intelligence, this is a chance to make a real impact—at scale.

About you – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in research platform solutions, API’s or other integration, custom data sets, reports, or a combination of these alongside consultancy services to Academic clients

It would be great if you also had...

  • Prior selling experience and in-depth domain knowledge of the US Academic Market
  • Prior experience with academic bids and tenders
  • Higher education experience
  • Proven track record of business development
  • Developing accounts through proactive prospecting
  • Deep discovery to understand customer workflow and content needs
  • Adept and cultivating strong customer relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Consistent achievement of commercial targets in a complex sales environment

What will you be doing in this role?...

  • Achieve sales targets for assigned products and territories, ensuring alignment with Clarivate’s overall business objectives
  • Identify and support new business opportunities both independently and in collaboration with Account Managers, driving growth and expanding market presence
  • Leverage product expertise to design and present value-added solutions, aiming to enhance deal value and address customer needs effectively
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline in collaboration with Account Managers, aiming to enhance deal size and speed up sales cycles through effective sales and negotiation strategies
  • Establish and nurture strong customer relationships through regular communication, exceptional service, and proactive problem-solving to ensure ongoing customer loyalty and satisfaction
  • Collaborate closely with Account Managers and other commercial teams to contribute to product sales planning and execute sales strategies that maximize Clarivate's footprint
  • Build and present reports outlining current and proposed activities, customer interactions, pipeline status, accurate sales forecasts, and closing timelines
  • Consult with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective sales campaigns and new business activities
  • Continuously acquire and develop relevant market, industry, and product knowledge to enhance commercial effectiveness and support sales success

About the Team

You’ll be joining a highly focused, impact‑driven Academia & Government Product Sales team dedicated to helping universities unlock the full power of research intelligence. This team partners closely with Academic Sales to bring trusted, world‑class research and analytics solutions to institutions that are shaping the future of education and discovery.

Reporting to the Director, Research & Analytics Product Sales for Academic Markets, you’ll be part of a tight‑knit, seven‑member team that values collaboration, curiosity, and shared success. The work is strategic, fast‑moving, and deeply connected to our customers’ missions—making this a standout opportunity to influence growth while supporting the academic community in meaningful ways.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
