This person will be responsible for multiple other ad hoc projects as assigned. The primary objective is to manage the full lifecycle of leases and play a key leadership role in month-end close, financial reporting, and audit processes.

As a senior member of the accounting team, this position partners cross-functionally with finance, IT, and operations to ensure appropriate ASC 842 Lease Accounting and consistency across the organization. The Senior Lease Accountant also reviews and strengthens internal controls, resolves complex accounting issues, and provides guidance to other team members.

In addition, the role drives process improvements by leveraging automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools to enhance reporting efficiency, data integrity, and scalability. This individual is expected to bring a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve visibility into leases and financial impacts.

If you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications but see yourself contributing, please submit your resume.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process within clearly specified time frames.
  • Perform analytical functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close.

  • Reconcile lease accounts to the general ledger monthly.
  • Prepare entity-level and consolidated lease roll-forwards.
  • Assist in identifying and researching technical accounting and reporting matters, accounting principles, and financial reporting rules.
  • Collaborate with and respond to ad hoc requests from key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Coordinate with members of the Development and Construction teams to understand the different stages of a project to apply proper lease accounting treatment.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
  • Support the annual audit process, provide data requests to external auditors, and provide substantial support for audit selections.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual lease schedules in accordance with GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements for inclusion in the periodic financial statements, footnotes, and other financial information reported on SEC Form 10-Q/10-K. Review and follow up on unusual activity.
  • Responsible for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls, process flow, supporting documentation, risk assessments, and monthly/quarterly certifications for assigned accounting responsibilities.
  • Provide backup for lease and other accounting groups as necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, automation platforms) to improve efficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Perform all aspects of work with a high degree of accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
