WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build systems that schedule and coordinate experiments across distributed laboratories.
- Connect AI agents to experiments and instruments through robust agent infrastructure.
- Design data infrastructure to capture system state, actions, measurements, failures, and provenance.
- Architect distributed systems that reliably coordinate software, devices, and experiments.
- Develop APIs and developer tools for new workflows and integrations.
- Debug and optimize systems across software, hardware, and physical environments.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of experience building production-grade software systems end to end.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Rust, with solid software engineering fundamentals.
- Production backend or distributed-systems experience, including APIs, networking, and asynchronous communication.
- Experience building software as an engineer at an early-stage startup.
- Ability to take ownership in ambiguous environments and debug across software and hardware layers.
- Experience with robotics, physical AI, hardware integration, lab automation, embedded systems, ML infrastructure, data infrastructure, or orchestration systems is a plus. Biology experience is not required.
