Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat® dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for an Apprentice Technician I.
Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful Service professionals.
Position Summary:
- Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times, meeting all Company standards for professionalism.
- Keep the Manager continually apprised to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessary.

- Accepts responsibility for mistakes or problems. Maintains "ownership" of assigned tasks.

- Must be dependable. Consistently arrives at work on time when scheduled, fully ready to work.
- Maintain company and product confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in all meetings, trainings, and activities as required.
- Adhere to all Company policies and departmental procedures and rules.
- All other duties as assigned
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
- Clean machines.
- Service machines.
- Assist Technician with machine repairs.
- Travel to training sessions at various training locations
- 12 weeks of instructor lead training.
- Complete 200 hours of Computer based training.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Must be honest, reliable, and dependable, and display a positive attitude.
- Must be able to work well under occasional pressure or within work standards and deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently and/or with others in a team environment.
- Able to work standard five-day schedule.
- Meet all eligibility requirements to drive Company vehicles, including a current, valid driver's license issued by the resident State, and maintain current motor vehicle liability insurance.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications:
- Moderate physical activity including the ability to operate the steam jenny and climbing onto and around equipment
- Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, criminal record check
- Ability to operate equipment safely from shop to shop and around property
- As an Apprentice you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions. Physical requirements include:
- Overall stamina
- Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
- Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, listening, and speaking
- Must have good motor coordination skills
- Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
- Verbal intelligence, and numerical intelligence
- The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold
- Injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Additional applicant requirements or work experience
- Demonstrated a level of maturity and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent attendance final academic year.
- Provide a transcript for final academic year.
- Illustrate a strong mechanical ability.
- CTC / Technical School instructor reference.
Currently enrolled in a high school CTC or graduate, graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.
