Your mission

This role is based at ClinkNOORD, in a design-led, social youth hostel that’s known for events, community, and bringing people together from all over the world. We welcome international travellers year-round, and we’re big on the kind of hostel experience where strangers end up becoming friends.

Your role at Clink Hostels as a Supervisor is central to making our guests experience a memorable one. You're actively creating connections, curating energy, problem-solving with empathy when things go sideways, and collaborating with the team across the front of house, kitchen, café, events and bar.

Your profile

What you’ll actually be doing:

  • Deliverstand-outservice with a warm,friendlyand authentic approach – creating memorable experiences for every guestacrossguest facing departments.
  • You will often lead the shifts in the building as the MOD (Manager on Duty), taking ownership and be responsible for the safety and communication of guests and staff.
  • Monitor andmaintainhigh standardsof service, ensuring cross-training for the team in all areas.
  • Ensure all food safety standards areadhered to at all times. Be confident in serving all products (various coffees, beverages, food items, etc.) and support staff training and quality control.
  • Coach and mentor the team with their daily tasks, team management, development etc. and act as first point of contact for any issue management.
  • Organise the daily tasks, help co-ordinate break times, ensure there is always a host on the floor to welcome and help guests.
  • Act as the first point of contact when on shift to help with guest or team queries ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the hostel.
  • Nurture a positive atmosphere amongst the team where thereisopen communication and a fun vibe, whilemaintaininggood relationships with other departments across the business.
  • Assistthe management team with training new and current team members, support their development and growth in the hostel.
  • Support the assistantoperationsmanager in creating new procedures and/or initiatives to improve the guest experience and the smooth running of the hostel. This includes full training,executionand follow-up review whereappropriate. As well as the team schedule,monitorand adjuston a daily basisin case of sickness and/or absence and report these to the management team.
  • Actively upsell and promote ourin-houseofferings – recommending coffees,ancillary sales,cocktails, fooddealsand specials to maximise guest experience and revenue.
  • Ensure all F&B areas (bar, café, service stations) are fully stocked, clean,organisedand ready for serviceat all times.
  • Ensure adherence to all food safety and health and safety requirements in line with legislation and internal procedures.
  • Drive sales through table service and engagement – confidently suggesting add-ons likecoffee,food,cocktailsor upgrades during guest interactionsin front of house areas
  • Create a lively and welcoming atmosphere – helping shape the social vibe of the hostel and encouraging guests to stay, relax and spend time in thesocialspaces.
  • Support and activelyparticipatein events – promoting drink specials, engaging withguestsand helping boost bar revenue during busy periods
  • Any ad-hoc duties that may naturally arise in your role
