We are looking to recruit a Junior Associate/Associate (NQ to 3 years PQE) to join our Catastrophic Injury / Large Loss team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong RTA/Motor claims experience who is looking to develop their career handling complex, high-value personal injury matters.

The successful candidate will work as part of an experienced team dealing with a varied caseload of significant motor claims, including catastrophic injury and large loss matters. You be working alongside and assisting senior lawyers on complex and high-value claims.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate, you will:

  • Assist on significant catastrophic injury and large loss claims.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice to clients.
  • Investigate liability and quantum and develop appropriate case strategies.
  • Review medical evidence, expert reports, witness evidence and other documentation.
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, instructions to experts and other legal documents.
  • Work closely with counsel, experts and other external parties throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
  • Support the negotiation and settlement of claims while identifying opportunities for early and effective resolution.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular, clear updates on case progression.
  • Contribute to the wider development of the team through knowledge sharing, collaboration and business development activity.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified solicitor with strong RTA/Motor litigation experience.
  • Has experience handling or assisting with complex and higher-value personal injury claims.
  • Has a sound understanding of liability, causation and quantum issues arising in motor claims.
  • Demonstrates strong technical legal and analytical skills.
  • Is confident managing their own caseload and prioritising competing deadlines.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Takes a commercial and practical approach to claims handling.
  • Is comfortable building strong relationships with clients, colleagues, experts and counsel.
  • Works collaboratively and enjoys being part of a supportive team environment.

Previous exposure to catastrophic injury or large loss claims would be beneficial, although candidates with excellent RTA/Motor experience who are looking to develop further in this area are also encouraged to apply.

The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to build on your Motor/RTA experience and develop greater exposure to complex, high-value catastrophic injury and large loss work.

You will join an experienced team where you can develop your technical expertise, take on increasing responsibility and work closely with colleagues on challenging and interesting claims.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
