Codal is an award-winning web design and development consultancy that helps enterprise organizations solve complex problems and accelerate growth through elegant, data-driven digital solutions. Our areas of expertise include application modernization, eCommerce, UX/UI design, product strategy, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.

At Codal, you will collaborate with some of the most innovative organizations in the world and work on cutting-edge technologies that push the boundaries of design and software development. We promote long-term success, not just for our clients but for our team, helping you develop a professional roadmap that takes your career to new heights.

Experience Range Overall experience: 5+ years

Job Location - Ahmedabad, Gujarat (WFO)

Who you’ll be working with

We build the solutions dreamed up by the product and design teams. Our goal is to deliver working software every two weeks. We are a large team that spans across three global offices, but we collaborate and integrate front- and back-end components and interfaces to provide a user-centered experience through web and mobile platforms.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own technical SEO delivery across a portfolio of mid-market and enterprise accounts on Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, and WordPress.
  • Lead technical audits and turn findings into prioritised remediation roadmaps tied to projected commercial impact (rankings, traffic, revenue).
  • Diagnose rendering, crawl, and indexation issues across CSR, SSR, ISR, headless, and SPA builds; work with engineering on fixes.
  • Lead site migrations end-to-end: pre-migration baselining, URL mapping, redirect logic, staging QA, launch-day monitoring, post-launch recovery analysis.
  • Measure, monitor, and grow client visibility across AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity (AEO/GEO).
  • Own the monthly performance cycle, lead QBRs, present technical findings on weekly client calls, and translate technical work into commercial outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.

What you’ll need to be successful (Requirements)

Must have skills:

  • 5+ years in technical SEO, with 3+ of those in an agency or multi-client setting as the technical lead on accounts.
  • Proven client-facing experience with UK or US stakeholders: weekly client calls, QBR ownership, and direct work with client-side engineering teams.
  • Demonstrable auditing experience on real sites: can walk through a recent technical audit, what was found, what was prioritised, and why.
  • Led website migrationS or replatform end-to-end (baseline, URL mapping, redirect logic, staging QA, launch monitoring, recovery).
  • Working knowledge of how Google crawls, renders, and indexes pages, including CSR vs SSR vs ISR and the indexing implications of each.
  • Hands-on experience across at least 2 of: Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, WordPress, with the ability to read templates and write implementation specs.
  • Track record of tying technical work to commercial outcomes: audits triaged on impact, low-value fixes deprioritised, recommendations connected to traffic, ranking, or revenue movement.
  • Excellent written and spoken English to UK/US client standard - able to defend technical recommendations under pushback.

Should have skills:

  • Working fluency with one or more SEO crawler tools (Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, JetOctopus, Botify, or equivalent), including JavaScript rendering and custom extraction.
  • Fluency with Google Search Console (Pages, Crawl Stats, URL Inspection) and Google Analytics 4.
  • Working knowledge of Schema.org and Google's structured data documentation.
  • Experience with hreflang, canonicalisation, faceted navigation strategy, XML sitemap architecture, and robots directives at scale.
  • Experience with Core Web Vitals diagnosis and prescription (LCP element optimisation, INP debugging, third-party script impact).

Nice to have skills:

  • Hands-on AEO/GEO measurement experience and a demonstrable point of view on where AI search is heading.
  • Hands-on experience across: Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, WordPress.
  • Headless or SPA build experience (Shopify Hydrogen, Next.js commerce.
  • Python for SEO automation (pandas, requests, DataForSEO API).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
