Job Description

As a Structural Revit Designer/Drafter at Coffman Engineers, you’ll help deliver innovative engineering solutions focused on our clients’ success. You’ll be part of a collaborative, creative, and high-performing team that believes in making a difference for our clients and our communities, in a culture where your growth and contributions truly matter.

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Structural Revit Designer/Drafter for our Portland office. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing structural building models, construction documents, and project deliverables using Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies. Working closely with structural engineers and project teams, this individual will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and maintaining detailed 3D models and drawing sets for a variety of project types.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Revit-based structural modeling and documentation, as well as an understanding of BIM workflows and interdisciplinary coordination. Experience with AutoCAD and other design software is beneficial; however, Revit proficiency and BIM expertise are the primary focus of this role. The successful candidate will independently complete design and drafting assignments while maintaining a high level of quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong Revit experience with 3 or more years’ experience in Revit drafting and design.
  • Advanced CAD, layout, and BIM skills.
  • Computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, Microsoft Teams, word processing, spreadsheets, BlueBeam, and graphics.
  • Ability to work from engineering sketches to produce computer-generated drawing sets including plans, details, schedules, technical specifications and notes.
  • Ability to work efficiently with numerous project teams to help with project completion.
  • Drafting experience with structural buildings and framing preferred.
  • Technical or associate degree in architectural/structural design and drafting or related engineering field preferred.
  • Experience with the latest release of AutoCAD is beneficial but not required.
  • Broader knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and interdisciplinary coordination is preferred.
