JOB SUMMARY The Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and the outside sales team. This role supports day-to-day business operations for an assigned customer base to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to help solve customer challenges. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Support
Proactively follow up with customers after delivery and service work order completion to ensure a positive customer experience. Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, acting as their primary point of contact. Keep the outside sales team informed of customer developments that may require their involvement. Effectively communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth deliveries and work order execution. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts to drive revenue growth. Process and maintain sales orders and service work orders.
Customer Reporting Management
Set up new customer ship-to accounts, assist with customer verification, and maintain files and databases. Provide administrative support to the Sales Team and assist with various inquiries. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system. Prepare and occasionally participate in delivering regular reports on account performance, sales activity, and customer feedback in advance of customer Quarterly Business Reviews.
Communication
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Procurement, and Operations/Dispatch, to deliver comprehensive solutions to customers. Provide administrative support to the Sales Team and assist with various inquiries.
Other
Perform other assignments as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business or another related field is preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience in a customer service and data entry role, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Familiarity with the transportation industry is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer relationship development skills. Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude while being assertive and professional in all verbal and written communication. Ability to develop new customer relationships and maintain existing relationships. Strong judgment with the ability to effectively and creatively solve problems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. Ability to occasionally move throughout the workplace as needed to perform job duties.
