Mechanical Design Engineer: Develop robust medical devices from concept to production

Would you like to use your mechanical engineering expertise to develop medical devices that make a real difference for people with intimate healthcare needs?

Working with engineers, scientists and project managers, you will turn product requirements and concepts into robust mechanical solutions, combining creative problem-solving with engineering rigour from concept evaluation through to production.

Welcome to CC & BC Mechanical Engineering

At our headquarters in Humlebæk, Denmark, you will join CC & BC Mechanical Engineering within Product Development, developing products for Continence Care and Bowel Care.

Mechanical design connects what users need with how a product performs and how reliably it can be manufactured. Our work brings together functionality, materials, tolerances and production considerations to create practical solutions that perform consistently in everyday use.

You will work closely with colleagues across Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Technical Design, Materials, Systems Engineering, Usability and Test Engineering, as well as Manufacturing Systems Development and Centre of Excellence specialists.

Turn product concepts into reliable, manufacturable solutions

As our new Mechanical Design Engineer, you will plan and deliver mechanical design activities in Product Development projects. Your work will span concept development and evaluation, detailed design, verification support and transfer to production.

You will take ownership of your mechanical deliverables and provide clear technical conclusions and recommendations. Working within the agreed project scope, you will identify risks early, make design trade-offs visible and bring in the right expertise to move decisions forward.

More specifically, you will:

• Develop and evaluate mechanical concepts, translating product requirements into practical design solutions in collaboration with Systems Engineering and relevant specialists.

• Develop and document mechanical designs using 3D CAD, working closely with Technical Design on drawings and specifications.

• Apply robust design methods and tolerance analysis to understand variation and secure reliable product performance.

• Apply Design for X principles to balance performance, manufacturability, sustainability and cost, involving manufacturing specialists early.

• Use calculations, simulation, prototypes and test evidence to evaluate solutions and support timely design decisions.

• Contribute mechanical expertise to risk assessments, verification planning, technical reviews and design documentation.

• Plan and deliver your activities against agreed project commitments, communicating risks, dependencies and the impact of proposed changes early.

• Share technical learning and help improve mechanical design practices across projects.

A mechanical engineer with practical judgement and a collaborative approach

You enjoy both exploring concepts and working through the details that make a design reliable. You can turn analysis into clear recommendations, explain design trade-offs and challenge unclear assumptions constructively.

You take a structured approach without making solutions more complex than necessary. You understand when further analysis is needed and when the available evidence supports moving forward. Above all, you take responsibility for your work while recognising that strong product solutions depend on contributions from several disciplines.

We imagine that you:

• Hold a BSc or MSc in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, product development or a related discipline.

• Have experience developing mechanical solutions, including plastic components for injection moulding and high-volume production.

• Work confidently with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.

• Have experience with robust design, tolerance calculations and design for manufacture.

• Can apply engineering theory, calculations and data analysis to practical design challenges.

• Communicate technical ideas and conclusions clearly, both visually and verbally.

• Work effectively across disciplines and document your work clearly.

• Communicate confidently in English.

Experience in medical devices or another regulated industry is an advantage. We also value experience with simulation and an interest in using digital tools, including AI where relevant, to improve engineering analysis and development efficiency.

You do not need to know every method from the outset. Curiosity, sound engineering judgement and a willingness to develop your expertise are important.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
