In this role, you will coordinate public awareness campaigns, maintain program documentation and data, support regulatory inspections, and provide meaningful performance reporting for Damage Prevention, Land Management, and other Asset Integrity programs.

The successful candidate will combine program coordination expertise with strong communication, data analysis, and relationship-building skills. You will work cross-functionally with Communications, Operations, Right of Way, Projects, emergency responders, public officials, landowners, schools, excavators, and external consultants to deliver consistent safety messaging and improve program effectiveness.

If you’re a collaborative professional who values safety, organization, continuous improvement, and public engagement, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

What You Get to Do:

Public Awareness Program Logistics

  • Coordinate logistics for public awareness safety messaging campaigns across multiple communication platforms, including tracking and documenting program activities.
  • Help ensure program activities meet applicable requirements under 49 CFR Part 195.440 and API RP 1162.
  • Assess program effectiveness through surveys and data analysis; identify strengths and gaps and recommend enhancements that support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain program documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and serve as a primary point of contact for Public Awareness regulatory inspections.
  • Coordinate with external consultants supporting databases, mailings, meetings, and other outreach activities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Program Support

  • Support cross-functional efforts to strengthen relationships with landowners, emergency responders, public officials, schools, excavators, and other critical stakeholders.
  • Partner with Operations, Right of Way, Projects, Communications, and other internal teams to promote consistent pipeline safety messaging and stakeholder engagement.
  • Help address stakeholder questions and concerns related to Colonial’s assets, operations, and activities.
  • Provide education to internal stakeholders on the Public Awareness program database and support ongoing platform improvements.
  • Ensure the Public Awareness database is maintained, regularly updated, accessible, and effective for program needs.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Compile statistical and compliance reporting for Damage Prevention, Land Management, Public Awareness, Integrity Management, Tank Integrity, Corrosion Prevention, and other Asset Integrity activities.
  • Support periodic departmental reports and annual system integrity and performance management reporting.
  • Provide data and reporting support for risk management and analysis activities.
  • Document process recommendations, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analytical support across Asset Integrity as needed.

Administrative & Business Continuity Support

  • Support recurring Asset Integrity budgets, funding approvals, and related administrative needs.
  • Assist with the maintenance, formatting, and approval of procedures, engineering standards, manuals, and other departmental documentation.
  • Develop advanced knowledge of the Public Awareness Manager function and the Safety Management System to support business continuity when needed.
  • Support emergency response activities, including training, short-term travel, and backfill responsibilities, as assigned.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, external stakeholders, consultants, and regulatory representatives.
  • Build productive working relationships across functions and translate program expectations into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Use critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment to resolve issues and support program strategy.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the pipeline or utility industry; 7+ years preferred.
  • Experience supporting stakeholder engagement and developing positive working relationships is preferred.
  • Strong program management, organization, and analytical assessment skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategy development capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate expectations effectively across the organization and work with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, including occasional field visits and short-term travel in support of program and emergency response needs.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
