Job Summary

Responsible to provide leadership and executive oversight for all aspects of the Software Engineering for Audience & Measurement department's operation. Specifically, the Senior Manager of Software Engineering will lead the Buyer Cloud User Data Engineering team and own the strategy, architecture, delivery, quality, operational health, and cost efficiency of platforms and services that manage audience, taxonomy, metadata, and identity data across Buyer Cloud. Partners with Engineering, Product, Revenue Science, Product-Marketing, Partnership, and Privacy teams to ensure User data components and services enable accurate, responsive, feature-rich, privacy-compliant (application-level) functionality. Provides leadership and direction across multiple functional areas and maintains fiduciary responsibility for budgets while maximizing the value of enterprise identity data assets.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own the engineering strategy, technical roadmap, and execution for Buyer Cloud User Data platforms and services.
  • Lead, develop, and grow a team of software and data engineers through clear direction, coaching, and career development.
  • Oversee the design, development, delivery, and production support of scalable and reliable data platforms and services.
  • Partner with the Buyer Cloud leadership team to align engineering priorities with business and product objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product, Audience Manager, Identity, Privacy, and other partner teams to deliver effective end-to-end solutions.
  • Lead architecture and design discussions involving large-scale Audience and identity data, distributed processing, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Drive engineering quality and release governance through effective design reviews, testing, CCB reviews, and production-change controls.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable engineering culture and communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage engineering resources and budgets effectively while driving cloud cost efficiency and maximizing the business value of technology investments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or the development of large-scale data platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing engineering teams of five or more people.
  • Proficiency in Python and microservices-based architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Production experience with CI/CD, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Passion for developing engineers and helping them grow in their careers.
  • Proven ability to foster collaboration and establish effective engineering processes.
  • Proven ability to lead design discussions and influence architectural decisions.
  • Strong understanding of system performance, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience initiating and driving cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs and deliver results without compromising quality or team health.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment.
  • Experience managing a technical roadmap and balancing new product requirements with platform improvements and technical debt.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Snowflake or EKS or Aerospike or Spark experience
  • Experience in ad tech, media, or data‑intensive platforms
  • Familiarity with both batch and streaming ingestion pattern
  • Background in performance monitoring, observability, and cost optimization in cloud environments

Compensation

Virginia Pay Range: $171,515.38 - $257,273.07

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
