Job Summary

Comcast is seeking a senior leader to help shape how we communicate in a rapidly changing information environment. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Vice President, Communications Strategy & Innovation will partner with the senior leadership team to spearhead the development of new capabilities that strengthen how Comcast understands, reaches and influences its most important audiences. Working at the intersection of communications, technology and AI, this leader will identify where emerging technologies can create meaningful advantage and translate those opportunities into practical capabilities that strengthen the company’s reputation and communications impact. This role is built for a strategic builder and operator: someone who understands communications and reputation, is deeply curious about technology, and can move quickly and fluidly from vision to execution. The right person will anticipate how the information environment is changing, determine what those changes mean for Comcast, and build durable capabilities that can be adopted and scaled across the Communications organization.

Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with our functional leaders and teams to build the next generation of communications capabilities, identifying where technology, AI, data and emerging platforms can strengthen how Comcast communicates and creates solutions that can be adopted and scaled across the organization.
  • Shape how our external communications evolve as the ways people discover, consume and synthesize information change, helping ensure communications about Comcast, its leaders and priorities are authoritative, accessible and accurately represented across traditional and emerging information environments.
  • Leverage the company’s sophisticated audience, reputation and media intelligence to identify opportunities, inform communications strategy and develop new approaches to reaching and influencing priority audiences.
  • Advance how we communicate with employees and external audiences, applying technology, AI and data to strengthen how content is created, tailored, distributed and measured and to develop new ways to inform, engage and connect with our audiences.
  • Identify and pursue emerging technologies and new approaches with the potential to create meaningful communications or business advantage, moving the most promising opportunities from experimentation to scale.
  • Lead the adoption of new capabilities across Communications, working with the team to establish new ways of working that improve the speed, effectiveness and impact of the function.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of experience across communications, digital transformation, technology, consulting or related fields, including significant senior leadership experience, including deploying new technologies and AI.
  • Demonstrated experience building new capabilities and leading complex transformation in a large, matrixed organization or across major enterprise clients.
  • Strong understanding of communications, reputation and the changing media and information environment.
  • Deep fluency in emerging technology and AI, with the ability to translate technical possibilities into clear communications and business applications.
  • Experience developing and deploying technology-enabled products, platforms or capabilities from concept and testing through adoption and scale.
  • Ability to connect audience insights, data, content, distribution and measurement into an integrated communications approach.
  • Proven ability to advise and influence senior executives and collaborate effectively across Communications, technology, data, legal, risk and business teams.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to prioritize opportunities based on strategic value, feasibility, risk and measurable impact.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Builder and operator mindset, with intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, a bias to action and comfort working in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
  • Experience delivering results in high-performing, cross-functional teams.

Employees at all levels are expected to:

  • Understand our Operating Principles; make them the guidelines for how you do your job.
  • Own the customer experience - think and act in ways that put our customers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and make them promoters of our products and services.
  • Know your stuff - be enthusiastic learners, users, and advocates of our game-changing technology, products, and services, especially our digital tools and experiences.
  • Win as a team - make big things happen by working together and being open to new ideas.
  • Be an active part of the Net Promoter System - a way of working that brings more employee and customer feedback into the company - by joining huddles, making call backs and helping us elevate opportunities to do better for our customers.
  • Drive results and growth.
  • Support a culture of inclusion in how you work and lead.
  • Do what's right for each other, our customers, investors, and our communities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
