The posting

Dabico FMT designs and builds passenger boarding bridges for airports and seaports around the world. FMT has more than 50 years of experience and is based in Trelleborg, Sweden. Its bridges are in service at more than 85 airports and seaports. FMT is owned by Dabico, a US-based group that supplies airport ground support equipment. We are now ramping up our operations in Sweden, and we’re looking for an engineer who understands design and knows how to turn it into bridges that are right first time and efficient to build. We welcome candidates with a few years of experience as well as those with more extensive backgrounds. What matters most is your motivation to develop, learn, and gradually take on greater responsibility within the team. Main responsibilities Review designs and drawings together with our design engineers for manufacturability, cost and ease of assembly – and propose improvements before they reach the floor. Translate designs into production: bills of materials, process plans, routings and work instructions. Define fabrication, welding and assembly methods, fixtures and tolerances for large steel structures and glass-walled tunnels. Support the production floor day to day – solve technical issues, handle deviations, and feed lessons learned back into the design. Work with suppliers and other Dabico production sites on make-or-buy decisions, sourcing and component quality. Ensure our bridges are built to the relevant standards for quality, welding and safety (e.g. EN 1090, ISO 3834, EN 12312-4). Work closely with our experienced design engineers for guidance and competence development.

The position is full-time, based in Trelleborg. We are a small company where everyone works toward shared goals. You will report directly to Head of Engineering. Occasional business trips are expected a few days per quarter. Qualifications and profile Degree in mechanical or production engineering, or similar. Around 2–3 years or more of experience in manufacturing or production engineering, preferably with welded steel structures or large mechanical assemblies. A solid understanding of mechanical design – you read drawings critically, understand tolerances and can see how a design will be built. ·Experience with 3D CAD and drawings, and with BOMs and ERP systems. Knowledge of welding and fabrication methods; experience of lean or continuous improvement is a plus. Fluency in English and good proficiency in Swedish. Hands-on and comfortable spending time on the production floor as well as at the desk. Curious, analytical, and solution oriented. Ambition to grow into the role and take on more responsibility, and a team player who wants to be part of a skilled and technology-driven organisation.

Contact and application In this recruitment process, we co-operate with the recruitment company ComCube. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
