About Commonwealth Fusion Systems:

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is on a mission to deliver the urgent transition to fusion energy.

Combining decades of research, top talent, and new technologies, we’re designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. And we're working with policymakers, suppliers, and many others to build the energy industry of the future.

We’re in the best position to make it happen. Since 2018, we’ve raised $4 billion of capital, making us the largest and leading fusion company in the world.

Now we’re looking for more thinkers, doers, builders, and makers to join us. People who’ll bring new perspectives, solve tough problems, and thrive as part of a team.

If that’s you and this role fits, we want to hear from you.

Join the power movement as an Assembly Test Implementation Engineer

This position is overall responsible for the preparation, execution and closure phases of all related SPARC Assembly test activities.

What you'll do:

  • Transferrable knowledge / skillset to become adept / proficient in all defined specialized test methods from both an engineering and equipment operation perspective – specialized testing includes complexity or hazard introduction for design verification purposes (low voltage, high voltage, high stored energy, etc.)
  • Support planning functions by scouting field assets for test instruction or procedure planning
  • Review and approve test procedures / instructions to ensure understanding of scope and identify & mitigate potential risks within both the engineering and technician teams
  • Collaborate with the technician team to execute a pre-test walkdown of unit or device under test, sensor, adjacent components, subsystems, systems or infrastructure to assess correct scope and hazard recognition when warranted
  • Collaborate with the technician team to execute custom builds of test equipment / features & mock-up testing for training / derisking purposes (pre-functional testing)
  • Develop software proficiency with SPARC Assembly workflow management for all test activities
  • Provide engineering direction when preparatory or execution impedances are encountered via simple or complex troubleshooting - decide between procedural intent and non-intent changes in the field
  • Adhere to the highest standards of safety and ensure that activities taking place are being performed in strict accordance with CFS safety policies and applicable regulatory safety standards
  • Ensure that activities being performed in the field are conducted in accordance with CFS Standards, standards published by regulatory bodies (NFPA, ASME, ASTM, NET, OSHA, NIOSH, etc.) and Industry Best Practices
  • Reinforce test performance standards - pre-job briefs, procedural place keeping, procedural use and adherence, conservative bias, diligent monitoring of critical parameters, correct data capture, attention to detail, etc.
  • Validate preliminary test outcomes - PASS, FAIL, UNCERTAIN with clear and succinct rationale / communication to integrated stakeholders
  • Collaborate with technician team to ensure full demobilization in the field / proper stowage of all inventory items.
  • Formal Test Engineering approval for all required test reports - signature authority
  • Debrief the test engineering team on performance / procedure feedback to leverage lessons learned, prevent error recurrence and optimize flow for ease of technician execution when deemed prudent
  • Occasional accommodation of off-normal work hours to support critical test activities

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Perform activities such as typing, standing, stooping, climbing or sitting for extended periods of time
  • Required onsite 5 days/week when assembly operations with relevant tools are underway, with possible alternating first or second shift assignment
  • Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
