The posting

Healthcare’s helping hand.

CHG shook things up in 1979 by inventing the locum tenens staffing model. We connect doctors with patients who need their care. As the largest physician staffing firm in America, our providers treat millions of patients each year.

Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding

CHG is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution in a spec-driven development environment – specifically for our workflow orchestration platform. This is an evolution of the traditional Product Manager role — you will not only define the “what and why” of the product roadmap, but you will author detailed technical specifications that give engineering teams the clarity to build with confidence. You will be embedded within engineering workflows, participating in design reviews, reviewing pull requests for spec alignment, and writing prototypes and code to validate your own assumptions. If you are a product leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy and technology, and you believe the best specs come from people who understand both the customer and the code, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with various stakeholders (mostly engineering groups) – researching their needs and then formulating how to extend our orchestration platform.
  • Author and own detailed technical specifications for product initiatives, including system context, data flows, workflows and corresponding actions, acceptance criteria, and edge case definitions
  • Define and communicate technical product vision, strategy, and roadmap grounded in customer research, market analysis, and business objectives
  • Write prototypes, proof-of-concept scripts, and lightweight automation to validate assumptions and accelerate decision-making
  • Participate in the building by taking existing code, understand how it works, and deploy changes
  • Partner with engineering as an embedded team member: participate in design reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and pull request reviews for spec alignment
  • Define product metrics, design workflows, and independently extract and analyze data to drive prioritization
  • Translate technical complexity into clear narratives for business stakeholders and business context into actionable direction for engineers
  • Break large initiatives into shippable increments defined in specs, ensuring a consistent delivery cadence and early detection of scope or quality risks
  • Conduct customer research, competitive analysis, and stakeholder interviews to inform product direction and identify high-leverage opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, understand, and write code
  • Experience in customer research for a technical platform
  • Experience in rolling out large scale workflow orchestration
  • Experience in large scale enterprise projects
  • Strong track record of Delivery & Execution
  • Spec-Driven Product Strategy and Roadmap
  • Stakeholder Communication & Alignment
  • Data Analysis & Insight Generation
  • Outcome Ownership & Value Realization
  • Technical Fluency & Systems Thinking
  • Customer & Market Insight
  • Cross-Functional Engineering Partnership

Education & Years of Experience:

BS preferred in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, engineering, business, or a related discipline), but relevant professional experience accepted. 5+ years of experience in product management with demonstrated technical depth. Experience authoring technical specifications, working in codebases, or contributing to engineering workflows.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with spec-driven or design-doc-driven development processes
  • Code competency — ability to read, understand, and review code
  • Familiarity with durable execution platforms (Temporal)
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and pull request workflows
  • Experience with SaaS products, APIs, microservices, or platform products
  • Background in data analysis, A/B testing, and experimentation frameworks
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and delivery management tools (Jira, Confluence)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
