Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineer II, Rebates Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid, 3 days in office) Reports To: Senior Manager, Product Development

A Quick Snapshot...

The Full Stack Software Engineer II builds and improves Conga's Rebates platform, a core part of how our customers manage rebate programs and calculate results from their transaction data. The team owns the full experience: the user interface for managing rebate programs, the APIs and data models behind it, and the accrual workflows that turn transaction data into accurate results.

In this role, you'll own features end to end across frontend, backend, and data boundaries, partner with teammates on sound technical decisions, and help ship reliable changes to production.

This role is a great fit for an engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience who enjoys working across the stack and wants real ownership of a product customers depend on for financial accuracy.

Why It's a Big Deal...

  • Build accessible, maintainable features in a React and TypeScript application and connect them to backend APIs.
  • Design and implement Java services, REST endpoints, business rules, and data access code for rebate workflows.
  • Work with SQL-backed and document data, including schema changes and migrations.
  • Contribute to accrual processing and troubleshoot data correctness and performance issues in distributed jobs.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, review code, and investigate production issues.
  • Partner with the team to improve build, deployment, and observability workflows.

Here's What We're Looking For...

  • 3 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience across frontend and backend systems.
  • Strong Java skills and hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, API design, and automated testing.
  • Ability to deliver well-scoped work independently and collaborate across application, data, and deployment boundaries.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development is strongly preferred, especially using GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar tools effectively in a professional engineering workflow.

Technology Experience...

  • Spring Boot, Dropwizard, JDBI, Liquibase, Microsoft SQL Server, or Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or other Azure services.
  • Databricks, Delta Lake, or data-intensive financial calculations.
  • Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or JUnit.

Why This Role Matters at Conga

  • Rebates is one of the core capabilities Conga brings together across pricing, quoting, contracting, and commercial operations, and your work directly shapes how customers run their rebate programs.
  • Accrual accuracy has real financial impact for our customers, so the correctness and reliability you build into the platform matter.
  • You'll work across the full stack, from UI to services to data processing, building broad technical depth rather than a single narrow lane.
  • You'll help raise the bar on testing, deployment, and observability as the platform scales.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
