Our client

Our client is a global leader in fire protection, with a strong focus on advanced fire alarm and detection technologies for commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and high-risk environments.

The company designs and manufactures intelligent fire detection systems, including smoke, heat, and multi-sensor detectors, integrated with sophisticated control panels and networked monitoring platforms. These systems provide real-time detection, early warning capability, and automated response, ensuring rapid identification of fire risks and enabling effective emergency intervention.

With a strong emphasis on innovation, system integration, and compliance with international and local Saudi standards (Civil Defense / SBC / NFPA), the company delivers fully engineered life safety solutions tailored to complex developments, including large-scale infrastructure and giga-projects such as NEOM.

Renowned for reliability, technical excellence, and specification-driven sales, the organization partners closely with consultants, developers, and system integrators to ensure its solutions are embedded at the design stage and adopted across major projects.

Job Purpose

Based in Riyadh, the Senior Sales Engineer - Specification will lead technical specification activity across Saudi Arabia. The central objective is to secure their products in project specifications and on the approved vendor or manufacturer lists held by design consultants, developers, EPC and MEP contractors, system integrators and relevant end users. The role will identify projects early, influence design decisions with sound engineering advice, and follow each opportunity through tender clarification, approval and handover to the commercial team or channel partner.

The role requires sustained engagement with specification influencers, a practical command of fire detection and related solutions, and disciplined tracking of design wins and approvals. It supports national market development, with regular travel beyond Riyadh.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SENIOR SALES ENGINEER - SPECIFICATION - RIYADH KSA

Specification and Vendor Approval:

  • Map priority consultants, design practices, developers, contractors and project owners; build working relationships with fire and life safety decision makers.
  • Engage at concept and detailed design stages to understand project risks, system architecture, compliance needs and procurement routes.
  • Present solutions and prepare technical submittals, product data, compliance matrices, sample specifications and design guidance for relevant applications.
  • Lead applications for inclusion on approved vendor and manufacturer lists; maintain approval records, renewal requirements and stakeholder contacts.
  • Track specifications from design through tender and award; address substitutions, technical objections and competitor claims with evidence.

Technical and Project Support

  • Provide product presentations, CPD style sessions and training to consultants, contractors, integrators and distributors.
  • Review drawings, bills of quantities and technical requirements; recommend suitable products and coordinate complex questions with engineering and product teams.
  • Support tender clarifications, equivalency reviews and product approvals, while ensuring representations about certification and local compliance are accurate and current.
  • Coordinate with sales colleagues and channel partners so specification wins translate into qualified opportunities and successful project execution.

Market Development and Reporting

  • Build a national pipeline of specification opportunities across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, data centre and other relevant projects.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of target accounts, design stages, product approvals, consultant engagement, tenders and conversion outcomes.
  • Share market intelligence on consultant preferences, competing products, approval barriers and emerging project requirements.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings, industry events and project visits throughout Saudi Arabia.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  1. Engineering degree or comparable technical qualification, preferably in electrical, electronics, mechanical or fire protection engineering.
  2. Substantial experience in technical sales, specification engineering or consultant engagement for fire alarm, detection or closely related life safety systems in Saudi Arabia.

  4. Working knowledge of Saudi project approval processes and applicable Saudi Building Code, Civil Defence and relevant international standards, including NFPA where specified.
  5. Ability to interpret specifications and drawings, produce persuasive technical submissions and explain complex systems to both engineering and commercial audiences.
  6. Strong relationships with Saudi consultants, EPC or MEP contractors and system integrators; effective planning, presentation and CRM discipline.
  7. Professional fluency in Arabic and English; willingness to travel regularly across Saudi Arabia.

Success Measures

  1. New and maintained approvals on priority consultant and contractor vendor lists.
  2. Number and quality of specifications secured on qualified projects.
  3. Progression of specified projects through tender, award and sales conversion in collaboration with commercial partners.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
