The posting

Location: San Francisco, CA, Rate: 30.00 - 40.00 USD Per Hour Full-time: (usually 30+ hours/week)

We are helping our client find Harness Technicians to be responsible for the installation, routing, and verification of electrical harnesses used in advanced vehicle and technology systems.

In this role, you’ll work from engineering drawings and documented procedures to ensure harnesses are installed correctly, connectors are properly seated, and all assemblies meet quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Available Shifts:

  • AM: 6:00AM-2:30PM, Monday-Friday
  • PM: 2:00PM-10:30PM, Monday-Friday

Note: Initial training will follow a Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM schedule for approximately two weeks before transitioning to one of the shift options above.

As a Harness Technician, you'll:

  • Install and route pre-manufactured wire harnesses according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Secure harnesses using approved routing methods, retention points, and strain relief techniques.
  • Verify connector placement, seating, and engagement to ensure proper installation.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly documentation.
  • Perform continuity checks and basic electrical verification testing.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure workmanship meets quality standards.
  • Identify and report damaged components, wiring issues, or assembly discrepancies.
  • Document completed work and inspection results as required.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations and tools.
  • Collaborate with assembly, installation, and quality teams to support production goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with wire harness installation, cable routing, or mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Experience:

  • Cabling: 1 year (Preferred)
  • harness installation: 1 year (Preferred)
