The posting

Cook Ford is seeking an experienced, motivated Senior Service Technician to join our growing service department. We are looking for a technician with strong diagnostic skills, a solid foundation in automotive repair, and the drive to continue developing their technical expertise.

The ideal candidate is confident diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle concerns, takes pride in quality workmanship, and understands the importance of efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Whether you are an established senior-level technician or an experienced automotive technician ready to take the next step in your career, this is an opportunity to strengthen your skills and advance through Ford's technical training and certification programs.

We value technicians who take ownership of their work, approach challenging repairs with a problem-solving mindset, and are committed to continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, and drivability concerns across the Ford vehicle lineup.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting using Ford diagnostic equipment, technical service information, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer-approved procedures.
  • Identify root causes of complex or intermittent vehicle concerns and perform accurate, effective repairs.
  • Complete maintenance and repairs involving engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering, suspension, braking, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Interpret diagnostic trouble codes, scan tool data, and system test results to develop appropriate repair strategies.
  • Research and apply Ford technical service bulletins, service messages, recalls, and updated repair procedures.
  • Perform post-repair testing and quality checks to verify repairs and minimize repeat visits.
  • Maintain accurate repair order documentation, including diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and work performed.
  • Communicate technical findings and additional repair needs to service advisors and management.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and service department personnel to support efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency while upholding dealership standards for quality, safety, and workmanship.
  • Participate in ongoing Ford technical training and pursue additional certifications to expand diagnostic capabilities and advance professionally.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with dealership policies and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Professional automotive repair experience, preferably in a franchised dealership environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose vehicle concerns beyond basic maintenance and component replacement.
  • Working knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer-controlled systems.
  • Experience using scan tools, diagnostic equipment, multimeters, wiring diagrams, and technical service resources.
  • Ability to troubleshoot vehicle concerns systematically and identify root causes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing repairs correctly the first time.
  • Dependability, accountability, and the ability to manage repair assignments efficiently.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented service department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Ford dealership experience.
  • Ford technical training or existing Ford service certifications.
  • ASE certifications in relevant automotive repair specialties.
  • Experience diagnosing complex drivability issues, electrical faults, and intermittent vehicle concerns.
  • Familiarity with Ford-specific diagnostic systems and manufacturer repair procedures.
  • Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle systems, with applicable training and certifications.
  • Demonstrated interest in advancing toward senior-level Ford technical certifications.

Professional Development

Cook Ford supports technicians who want to continue developing their skills and advancing their careers. Candidates who demonstrate strong technical ability, a commitment to quality, and a willingness to learn will have opportunities to pursue additional Ford training and certification milestones.

We welcome experienced technicians who are ready to take on more challenging repairs, expand their diagnostic expertise, and build a long-term career in Ford service.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
