Job Description

The Associate Key Account Manager will manage the assigned Malaysia and Singapore business independently within broadly defined goals, priorities and objectives established by the Head of Key Accounts, Malaysia and Singapore, while collaborating closely with internal cross-functional teams to achieve overall business objectives and support other commercial priorities as required.

Responsibilities

In Malaysia, the role carries both strategic account management and field sales responsibilities. In addition to managing Key Account relationships and business plans, the Associate Key Account Manager will conduct regular sales calls at assigned Key Account outlets, build strong relationships with customers and store teams, identify business opportunities, and ensure effective execution of agreed commercial, sales and marketing initiatives at store level. The role serves as an important link between account-level strategy and outlet-level execution, ensuring that customer plans are translated into measurable results in the field.

For Singapore Key Accounts, the Associate Key Account Manager will partner closely with the Singapore sales team to cascade agreed customer plans, provide clear execution direction and follow through on implementation to ensure consistent and effective execution across relevant outlets.

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with assigned Key Account customers and key stakeholders at both head office and outlet levels
  • Develop a thorough understanding of customers’ business needs, priorities and objectives, and identify opportunities to drive mutual and sustainable business growth.
  • Develop and execute Customer Business Plans and/or Joint Business Plans in collaboration with the Head of Key Accounts, translating company and customer priorities into clear initiatives, action plans and measurable KPIs.
  • Drive sales growth and account performance by identifying business opportunities, recommending appropriate solutions, and achieving agreed sales targets and commercial objectives.
  • Conduct regular sales calls at assigned Key Account outlets, engaging store-level stakeholders to drive product recommendation and sales, strengthen customer relationships, and identify business opportunities
  • Ensure effective execution of agreed Key Account plans and commercial initiatives at outlet level, including product launches, promotions, marketing programs and other sales activities, and take corrective actions where required.
  • Serve as the key liaison between customers and internal teams, proactively communicating customer needs, resolving issues, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and timely delivery of agreed products, services and initiatives
  • Monitor, analyze and report account performance, including sales results, forecasts, agreed KPIs, market trends and competitor activities, while partnering with the Singapore sales team to cascade plans and ensure effective execution across relevant Singapore outlets.

Work Environment

  • Office (50%), Key Accounts stores (50%)

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, relationship building, negotiation and presentation skills, with strong business acumen, consultative selling, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Key Account Management, sales or commercial roles, preferably within an MNC.
  • Proven experience in managing key customers and driving sales growth and profitability.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics and competitive landscape
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering sales targets and business results
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Optometry or a related discipline; an Optometry qualification or relevant optical industry background would be an advantage

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
