This role reports to the IT Portfolio Manager and is well suited for an analyst with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and an interest in portfolio management, project governance, and data quality. Project Managers are accountable for the accuracy and timely maintenance of their project information. The IT Portfolio Quality Analyst provides independent quality assurance by monitoring portfolio data, identifying exceptions, facilitating remediation, and measuring adherence to established portfolio standards.

  • Milestones and key dates
  • Risks and issues
  • Project ownership and accountability
  • Financial, resource, and other portfolio information, as applicable
  • Ensure portfolio information is maintained consistently in accordance with established portfolio governance standards, definitions, and reporting cycles.
  • Identify missing, stale, inconsistent, or potentially inaccurate information and coordinate remediation with the appropriate Project Managers.

Quality Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop and execute queries, reports, and data quality checks to identify exceptions and outliers across the IT portfolio.
  • Analyze recurring data quality issues and identify trends or systemic gaps that may require changes to processes, guidance, training, or Planview configuration.
  • Maintain data quality metrics and provide visibility into portfolio compliance and outstanding exceptions.
  • Support portfolio reporting cycles by performing quality assurance reviews prior to the publication of executive and cross-portfolio reporting.
  • Help ensure that leadership reporting is based on a consistent and reliable portfolio data set.

PM CoE & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner closely with Project Managers and the PM CoE to communicate data quality exceptions and facilitate timely resolution.
  • Provide guidance to Project Managers on portfolio data requirements, definitions, standards, and update expectations.
  • Follow up on outstanding exceptions and escalate unresolved or recurring issues through established governance channels when appropriate.
  • Support education and communication efforts that improve data quality and reinforce consistent portfolio management practices.

Planview & Portfolio Administration

  • Support the Portfolio Management team in the administration and ongoing use of Planview.
  • Assist with maintaining data standards, reference information, reporting structures, and portfolio governance processes.
  • Participate in testing and validation of Planview enhancements or configuration changes that affect portfolio data and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data quality checks, exception reporting, and recurring portfolio administration activities.
  • Document portfolio data definitions, procedures, controls, and quality standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in an analyst, project coordinator, PMO, portfolio management, data quality, reporting, or related role.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to identify patterns, discrepancies, and exceptions within structured data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively with Project Managers and other stakeholders to resolve data and process issues.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with reporting, query, or data analysis tools.

Preferred

  • Experience with Planview or another enterprise project and portfolio management (PPM) platform.
  • Experience working within an IT PMO, Portfolio Management organization, or Project Management Center of Excellence.
  • Familiarity with project and portfolio management concepts, including project health, milestones, risks, issues, financials, resources, and governance.
  • Experience developing reports, queries, dashboards, or automated data quality checks.
  • Familiarity with SQL, or similar reporting/data analysis technologies is a plus.

Key Competencies

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
