Job Description:

Own the strategy, roadmap, and performance of a product portfolio from concept to retirement. In this highly visible role, you'll combine customer insights, market intelligence, and business strategy to shape product direction, set priorities for new product development, and manage product P&L performance to optimize growth and margins. Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, sales, and marketing teams, you'll lead every stage of the product lifecycle, ensuring our portfolio evolves with market needs while delivering strong commercial results and exceptional customer value.

AS A PRODUCT MANAGER, YOU WILL:

  • Own the Integration Tools Portfolio: Manage the complete product lifecycle for Modbus and BACnet integration tools, from concept through end-of-life, including product planning, feature prioritization, lifecycle management, quality improvements, and long-term product strategy.
  • Lead Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for integration tools and connectivity solutions, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer needs, market opportunities, technology trends, and business objectives.
  • Define Integration Strategy & Customer Value: Understand customer workflows, integration challenges, and interoperability requirements to define product value propositions and deliver solutions that simplify integration across building automation, HVAC, refrigeration, and industrial control systems.
  • Drive Technical Product Requirements: Translate customer and market requirements into detailed product requirements for Engineering, ensuring successful implementation of Modbus, BACnet, and related communication protocols while balancing technical feasibility, customer value, and business priorities.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Lead cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Software Development, Marketing, Sales, Technical Support, and Customer Success—to deliver high-quality integration tools and ensure successful product launches and ongoing product improvements.
  • Engage Customers & Industry: Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) research with OEMs, system integrators, distributors, and end users to understand integration challenges. Represent the business at industry events, standards organizations, and customer engagements to influence product direction and maintain awareness of emerging technologies and standards.
  • Monitor Market & Competitive Landscape: Analyze industry trends, interoperability standards, competitor offerings, and evolving building automation and industrial communication technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Ensure Product Performance & Business Success: Measure product adoption, customer satisfaction, and business performance while developing business cases for new investments, strategic initiatives, and product enhancements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or another related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with BACnet and Modbus integration tools, gateways, protocol converters, or building automation systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working within one or more of the following industries: HVAC, Refrigeration, Building Automation/Building Controls, Industrial Automation, or Energy Management Systems
  • Strong understanding of BACnet, Modbus RTU/TCP, industrial communication protocols, and system integration principles.
  • Experience gathering customer requirements and translating them into prioritized product requirements and development roadmaps.
  • Strong product management, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize competing initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience working closely with software development and engineering teams using Agile or similar product development methodologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Master's degree (MBA or Engineering discipline preferred).
  • 3–7 years of Product Management experience managing software, controls, connectivity, or integration products.
  • Deep technical knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and other building automation or industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, REST APIs, or LonWorks.
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS), supervisory controllers, PLCs, edge controllers, gateways, or IoT connectivity platforms.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE BACnet standards and interoperability certification processes.
  • Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, controls contractors, and building automation partners.
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R controls, refrigeration systems, industrial automation, or smart building technologies.
  • Demonstrated success developing product roadmaps and prioritizing features based on customer feedback, technical complexity, and business impact.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive successful product launches from concept through commercialization.

Flexible Work Schedule

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.
