The posting

At Coretelligent, we take ownership of the technology our clients rely on every day.

We partner with growing, highly regulated organizations that need secure, dependable IT environments built to scale. Our role goes beyond support. We bring structure, clarity, and accountability to complex technology landscapes so leaders can move forward with confidence.

Over the past several years, Coretelligent has entered a new chapter. We have strengthened our leadership team, modernized our service delivery, and sharpened our focus on long-term client outcomes. Our work spans managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and strategy, delivered through a model designed for consistency, transparency, and trust.

We are building a team of professionals who care deeply about quality, ownership, and continuous improvement. If you value clear expectations, thoughtful collaboration, and work that genuinely matters to the businesses you support, you will feel at home here

What We’re Looking For

As a Project Engineer at Coretelligent, you will play a key role in delivering complex IT initiatives across our client environments. This role is responsible for executing project-based work from design through deployment, ensuring solutions are implemented efficiently, securely, and in alignment with client expectations.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to support a wide range of infrastructure and cloud initiatives, while also serving as a technical resource for clients throughout the project lifecycle. This includes building and deploying solutions, documenting configurations, supporting end users, and ensuring a seamless transition into ongoing support.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys project-based work, takes ownership of outcomes, and thrives in dynamic MSP environments where no two projects are the same.

Remote (U.S) | Exempt | Reports to Manager, Project Engineering

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and deploy infrastructure for new offices, office relocations and network refreshes.
  • Install and configure firewalls, managed switches, access points and associated hardware.
  • Implement VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing and firewall policies.
  • Configure site-to-site and remote access VPNs, SD-WAN and ISP failover.
  • Coordinate with ISPs, cabling contractors and third-party vendors.
  • Troubleshoot routing, connectivity, wireless and performance issues.
  • Create network diagrams, IP plans, configuration records and handoff documentation.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Fortinet FortiGate and Meraki firewalls
  • Cisco, Meraki, UniFi and Fortinet switching
  • Meraki, Aruba and UniFi wireless
  • TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs and routing
  • Office deployments, rack-and-stack, network refreshes and cutovers

Adjacent technology knowledge — working familiarity expected

  • Windows Server and Active Directory
  • VMware vSphere and Hyper-V
  • Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Azure networking basics
  • Storage and backup platforms such as Synology, Dell EMC and Veeam

Experience and qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant IT infrastructure experience with hands-on network deployments.
  • Ability to independently execute network infrastructure projects.

Cross-Functional Technical Expectations

  • Engineers are hired for demonstrated expertise in a primary specialty, not mastery of every platform.
  • Maintain foundational understanding of adjacent networking, cloud, infrastructure, security and identity technologies.
  • Understand dependencies, collaborate across disciplines and contribute outside the primary specialty when appropriate.

Project Delivery Expectations

  • Own assigned technical tasks from planning through completion. Coordinate with Project Managers on approved scope, budgets, schedules and risks. Maintain accurate time entries, project updates and technical documentation. Support cutovers, validation, post-implementation support and handoff to operations. Maintain billable utilization consistent with departmental expectations.

Travel and Work Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for project work at least once a month.
  • Able to regularly work nights and weekends to perform off-hours upgrades and migrations

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
